here we go again with the "you guys are turning a profit" nonsense… What I do for a living makes it possible for me to provide these things at cost rather than at retail… your point you are trying to make is completely backwards.. if i had to buy this stuff at retail - none of this would be possible. There is no profit in giving away free towels.

That is exactly my point... if I wanted to announce to my thousands of supporters what I do for a living, I could easily get an onslaught of new clients who are EXTREMELY impressed with the level of (let's call it) "customer service" that they have received. Instead, I have kept my personal and business life out of it because I didn't want to self promote - yet the guy who is calling us thieves is promoting one small piece of one of my businesses for me. Through our tireless effort, we have put together a national campaign on a shoestring budget funded 100% by our supporters - not one of which feels like they didn't get their money's worth. You don't see our supporters complaining. It is the detractors who will say anything ridiculous to try and diminish how successful this movement has been in getting our message across. We have heard it all. First we were "scam artists who would never get a billboard up"... 4 billboards later, we were "terrible people who should have donated money to charity"... And now it's "you guys don't care about the Jets... You are in this to make a profit"... The beautiful thing about having nothing to hide is that I have absolutely no fear of any of these accusations. We just continue to outperform expectations and represent our supporters with pride.
Further.... Here is my offer... Anybody who wants to accuse us of making money from this going forward - put your money where your mouth is. I will put up any amount of money... let's start at $25,000 which you can use for a coaches club PSL - you match it and we will put it in an escrow account. I will personally pay for an independent account - any accountant. I will bring ALL receipts and bank records from day 1 of this movement and the two of us can sit there while he/she analyzes the numbers. If we have taken even 1 cent of profit from this campaign, you just made yourself a quick $25k.... If not, you just learned an expensive yet valuable lesson not to speak about things when you have no clue what you are talking about. Put up or shut up time.
Coaches know that if they throw a challenge flag and are wrong, there are consequences.. so they better be pretty damn sure about their stance. This guy is one bad decision away from losing a timeout and a challenge.
There is no one on that management team worth keeping. The reason the team stinks is because of Ryan, his coaching staff, Idzik and all of his staff, and the owner. No matter who is fired, the Jets will not ever do anything with any of this bunch in place. The team has stunk forever and will continue to stink forever! At least you now, you know that much.

Woody thinking of keeping Idzik? HVILLE — That Rex Ryan won't be back as the Jets' head coach in 2015 is all but certain at this point. But what about John Idzik, who's been taking a beating over the team's 2-11 record in just his second season as general manager? Earlier this week, owner Woody Johnson strongly suggested he was thinking of firing Idzik in addition to Ryan. But Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com, citing league sources,reported Sunday morning that Idzik "has been helping craft the preparations for the franchise's ensuing coaching search along with owner Woody Johnson." Which, on its face, seems to point to Idzik sticking around. But—with any attempt to read the tea leaves on something like this, there's always a but—here's LaCanfora: Some sources cautioned that Johnson could still perhaps opt to hire a new general manager as well, especially should he pursue an A-List coach who might want his own personnel executive, but it surprised some around the league to learn that Idzik has been involved in the pre-vetting stages of the search. [...] To this point the franchise is not using a headhunter or search firm—Johnson has in the past—and while that could change at some point, for now it has been Johnson, Idzik and team president Neil Glat who have been handling the behind-the-scenes stuff. In other words, it's still so early in the process that it's not unreasonable for Idzik to have some input on the coaching search. And it's also so early in the process that Johnson could still decide not to retain Idzik. Johnson might fire Idzik. Johnson might not fire Idzik. Perhaps it's best to treat all the intrigue like the holiday shopping season: Only 15 days left to speculate and wonder.
This terrible roster that was competitive in most games and lost due to: a) play calling b) execution of plays c) coaching d) timeout usage e) others Some of that is due to young players and not greatly talented players. A lot of that comes down to coaching. Another young QB regressed to a turnover machine under Rex. Another offense that only works when the run game works at a historic level. Terrible ST play on top of that. Idzik has made a ton of mistakes, but Rex has had one of his worst coaching years here. Probably up there with 2011. Let's not pretend everyone is excelling at their job besides Idzik. That's why I don't buy this Idzik targetting campaign. Go after the person here with the shortest tenure that was given a HC and hired by an owner. It seems like such a random choice.
I've been on the fence with Idzik but I lean towards him staying. I think most Jets fans are dumb and really don't have a clue what is best for the team (not talking message board fans, although, some of you including myself are definitely dumb). They may be right in this case, but I almost prefer Woody to keep Idzik to show that he's not going to get bullied by the fan base if he thinks he's doing the right thing.
