Has anyone seen the list of available FA after this season? Wondering if anyone we can look at and think there is a legit chance he can be in green and white.
I wouldn't mind looking at either Maclin, Cecil Shorts or Torrey Smith. Also Malcolm Smith at OLB would be nice. Most likely all of these guys, besides Shorts, re-sign with their current team but worth a look by the Jets.
I want Chris Harris JR from Denver sooo bad that boy is a baller. He'd change our dynamic and would most likely help Pryor do what he does instead of getting burned in coverage all day.
Malcolm Smith, Mike Iupati and Darrelle Revis for me. Draft QB/WR in first, then WR/OL in the second.
What if our next coach wants to run a 4-3? we could either sign both snacks and ellis back, let harris walk, and look to pick up a JPP. An alternative to signing both DT's back could be sign snacks, move sheldon or wilk on the inside with him...plus add JPP, scary stuff right there. We need to start getting sacks. That could be a step towards that.
I posted a thread some time ago, basically I am curious if we get the Seattle DC as our next HC and switch to 4-3. In that case, might be easy and make sense to sign both of Seattle's OLBs, Malcolm Smith and KJ Wright. Together with Demario Davis as the lone MLB, we would suddenly have a much smaller, faster LB corp that can cover much better. Richardson would become the 3-technique tackle, a great position for him (where he wouldnt have to drop back into coverage or face double teams as often), Coples would move to one DE position, Snacks would remain the nose tackle, and the other DE position could be filled either by a slimmed down Wilkerson, or if we cant get a QB in the first round, Randy Gregory, or maybe by signing JPP (if his health checks out, haven't really been following him). The last two imply us trading Wilkerson if they don't feel he is a good fit in a 4-3. I think overall, this would make us better both in terms of QB pressure and coverage.
Be sure to drink your Ovaltine. I mean, be sure to watch Rodney McLeod tonight in the Cardinals at Rams game. Last I checked he will be a free agent. Not sure if unrestricted or not. He may be a guy for the Jets to strongly consider.
Orrrr how bout keep Wilk on the outside and that guy Suh that "Wants to play in NY" can swoop in and team up with snacks? Yikes.. That's a big reach for our strongest spot on the roster but i'd love it
Imagine being an offensive line coach trying to gameplan for Wilkerson, Sheldon, Suh, Harrison. How could you even sleep that week?
While that would be awesome I think suh is gonna want ALLOT of money and I just think we have too many needs to spend that kind of cash addressing an area of our team that is already a strength.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Maybe now one of the Thomas's will hit the market.. Julius more than likely.
