O, I sure Harbaugh not get Jets playoffs this year, but I also sure Harbaugh pick players he like. He also likely draft better QB like Bridgewater to develop. But what I know. I is only a Internet guy tough.
Good point you don't know shit. Plus that fucking cry baby wouldn't last in NY. Just because your a good coach doesn't make you a good GM. That been proven time and time again.
People who were around then definitely have their opinions about Parcells and his time with the Jets. I think part of the reason the Jets were not left with a better residual effect of his time with the team was for reasons out of Parcells's control. Those included Hess's death and his family's auction of the team, leading to Johnson taking over. That seems to have complicated the situation with Belichik, leaving them with a very weak alternative in Groh, and no doubt Parcells leaving before he might have otherwise. The point is none of those situations would have any real equivalent if Gruden were made the czar. Ftr taht would be my favorite choice here, but I don't see it happening for several reasons. First of all I don't see Woodrow giving over that kind of autonomy to anyone. And without it someone of Gruden's stature would not even consider the job. You can probably stop right there, but ftr I don't think Gruden necessarily is done coaching, however much he feels comfy in his current job.
I get your point but I still have a question about Harbaugh's changing out Smith for Kaep. He got accolades for the move at the time, but in hindsight don't you have to wonder why Harbaugh did not see Kaep as having a low ceiling longer term? Aside from the fact that he's younger than Smith, I don't see how on balance that was the right move for the Niners. And even long term, who knows how long Kaep will play in the NFL? At a bare minimum, I think, harbaugh's rep as a judge of Qb talent has to be questioned.
You're absolutely right and because of that, I think Harbaugh saw Kaepernick as more than he actually was. No one talks about that now because of how successful the guy is. It's hard to pick a part a coach who has an unbelievable record and reaches the NFC championship game every year. He still hasn't failed to me. Failing is our inability to help Sanchez. Harbaugh was wrong but to say he failed would be even more wrong
Well, I of course brought his name up, but I do have concerns about his age. Coughlin should probably retire, probably should have this past off season. Carroll is very young for his age - there is such a thing. He's an exception. Fox imo is not looking as into it as before. Imo being an HC in the NFL probably is a job that for the right person is a great job. But it's a crazy job, too. And the requirements of the job do seem to be a poor match as you get to the point in your life when your energy level begins to abate a bit, and you probably want some serenity and more time with your family and that sort of thing. But I do think Norv would be a great person to help develop a Qb. Too bad he's got a current gig at the OC level.
I'm actually cooling off on Harbaugh myself. I don't think he's putting Kaep in the best position to succeed. 49ers rarely run the pistol anymore - that's what Kaep does best. I think Kaep is overrated as hell, but I don't think Harbaugh is doing him any favors.
LOL, Being 61, the last thing I want is a lot of serenity - I will have plenty of that when I am dead.
