They lost this game on two play. First the WR burns his man and is open for a long TD but the ball is throw short like for a comeback route. Then the ball is thrown deep but the WR just stopped on his route so it was a huge overthrow and easy INT. This is the problem of their gameplan. A close game is gonna come down to needing to make passes at the end of the game. They ran so much, you can't expect your pass game to be clicking when you've only thrown 4 times by the fourth quarter.
This is gonna be interesting. Draft history has shown there are very very few Heisman winners who end up being good nfl QBs. Winston won it last year and Mariota will win it this year.
Are all college games like this? I mean do the bands play songs every chance they get? Man this feels like a gypsy wedding ceremony. Once Jets pick Mariota or Winston I will be done with college football thank God.
I agree, I think both will but it's something to watch that will be interesting. Both come out of the same draft and both become very good QBs.
Roger Staubach, Jim Plunkett, Carson Palmer, Vinny Testaverde. Plunkett and Staubach had 2 SB wins. 4 out of 26 Heisman winning QB's, probably somewhere in line with non Heisman winning QB's, percentage wise, that were picked in the 1st round over the last 40-50 years.
