It looked pretty good and I'm glad to see they went back to real storm troopers and not those robots they had in the prequels. One thing I never understood about the prequels that they had more technology and nicer weapons, and fighters than they did in the original 3.
I thought the technology aspect worked from the angle that the galaxy was more advanced before coming under ruin from the Empire.
This, the stormtroopers were the clonetroopers. Everything the empire has, is more or less the leftover stuff from the clone army that was created on Kamino.
One aspect of big action/epic movies that is becoming increasingly tiresome for me is the interminable scenes where a CGI army of 10,000 whatevers engage in a battle with 10,000 other CGI whatevers. Lord of The Rings, The Hobbitt, Wrath of the Titans, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Immortals, Avatar, John Carter, etc. It's boring at this point. _
Agreed...It was revolutionary and epic during Lord of the Rings Return of the King...Now its everywhere. Btw, Game of Thrones is a tv show and has to be the exception...They show a quick shot to show scope of the battle but due to budget they focus on the ground on a specific character which is something I appreciate. P.S. You must be the only person I know that saw John Carter.
People think that person is a HE, but now I think about it...It probably is a SHE... The Bitch of Tarth, Brienne.
I'm in too but common man, you don't "have" the force, you either can or can't use it. Amateur hour over there at Disney
Man does Ford look old. And while we're on it, look Luke turned into the Emperor: All he needs is a bath robe
Also, have to admit one thing. JJ Abrams is damn good DAYUM, look at that practical set and those real effects. FUCK CGI. lol that trooper flew
I saw the original Star Wars in the theater nine times. I was nine years old, I walked a mile to the theater from Cedar Knolls NJ to East Hanover Mall. Made that trek with my dollar fifty over and over again. Loved every minute of it, all nine times. Still love the series today, as do my two sons.
