I understand why we have all the criticism of Rex and Idzik, the one thing I don't really understand is how the players are getting an easy ride? We all know that a lot of the players are of a limited ability but that can never excuse not giving 100% every time you get on the field. We all do an honest days work for an honest days pay but how many jets can say that this year. How many can look in the mirror and tell themselves they gave their all @ buffalo? Personal responsibility should dictate that they never stop trying yet they packed it all in again last night. I know people are going to say the players have given up on Rex and that may be true, but in doing so they have also given up on themselves and that deserves criticism from all corners. If your not going to give 100% effort then stay at home instead of trying to fool the fans into believing you really do care.
jftr, the D-line was still playing till the final snap... those boys have this level of pride and go all day .. Now, the other 8? ooof..
I wonder what the over / under is for Rex getting the shaft. It should be after this game but if its not then when?
The GM picks players and the coach coaches them. I know it's the players who dumped that hot mess on the field last night but the final blame rests at the doors of Idzik and Rex. Get new staff, and let them figure out which players are culpable and hold them accountable.
It will be on Black Monday. It could have been during the bye week, but the Steelers decided to phone that game in.
I have a hard time believing they weren't prepared after two weeks of practice, but the overall lack of execution was piss poor. The failure to make adjustments also seemed bad as well.
They were playing a team that didn't even see each other for the week leading up to the game. Last night was beyond pathetic in all facets of the organization. It's like they showed up expecting play a college team. This season makes me want to beat the shit out of Woody Johnson so badly.
The preparation or lack there of is 100% on the shoulder of Rex Ryan. All buddy buddy with his players, no accountability, no discipline. From the late, gay, Kerry Rhodes "if you're a player here you get to chill." Chris Jonshon, Mike Vick, Percy Harvin, Eric Decker even Mo Wilk pitiful leadership all around. Bury the team next to Namath; this franchise is a curse. Fuck you Rex Ryan for getting me to believe six years ago. You're a tame mut now. You're pussy is larger than the Pacific Ocean, push-over puss. Fucking slap-dick coach.
Wade Phillips was a Head Coach for 3 different teams and interim Head Coach for 3 more, racking up 12 full or partial seasons as a HC at the NFL level. His playoff record is 0-5. Rex will be a HC again.
I see this has turned into Rex and Idzik are to blame. Is anyone gonna hold the players in anyway responsible for this mess?
The fact that you just made a generalized thread that was in essence not interesting probably hinders it's effectiveness. Maybe you should try to blame specific players.
Thanks for the tip. You want me to name every player that suited up last night? The simple truth is there is nothing worse then people who don't give 100% effort to the task at hand. Imo not one jet gave his all for the jersey last night yet you will still hear them bang on about how much they love being a Jet and love the fans, well actions speak louder then words and their actions basically say fuck this I'm done
I'm curious, just what exactly do you believe are the head coach's and GM's responsibilities? Or do they have any?
The Gm is responsible for getting the best players available into the team. The HC is responsible for coaching those players into a winning formula and the players are responsible for giving every last thing they have to ensure the team wins on any given Sunday. All 3 facets have failed dismally yet only two are facing any criticism why is that?
Name a player. Just saying that every player was bad is stupid, because as Tee said, the Dline played their hearts out for most of the game. It's like you are trying to make a point but don't have any information to back it up. Did you watch the game?
Ya I watched the game on a stream until 4 am this morning. Every last sickening second of it. I'm not saying every player was bad what I am saying is that every player did not play up his level of ability ie did not put in 100% effort. Lacking effort is very different to lacking ability. Maybe I'm not getting my point across well I don't know, but when you got two hours sleep before getting up for work the brain tends to be a little hazy
Agreed... Even MM will be a HC again. Just hopefully not here. It will be quite some time in between though for Rex. If Rex is smart, he should take a year or two off and do some real soul searching. Evaluate what worked here and what didn't, then move on. I can see him being a DC again quicker than a HC. Ya nevah kno tho.
Did you hear Sheldon Richardson after the game? I LOVE this guy. He basically called out his teammates for playing like shit and not doing their jobs, but he got the message across in a subtle way. I guarantee the guys on this team who care enough to play hard and do their jobs, are more than aware of the guys who don't ... or simply can't. http://nypost.com/2014/11/25/teary-eyed-sheldon-richardson-didnt-get-drafted-to-lose-games/
