take him what? dancing? … We kind of have a poor mans lynch as it is with Ivory… but yes, i'd take him. i'd cut CJ and take him on a similar deal. He's 29 next year, but he's CLEARLY still effective, he's basically the center of Seattle's offense of late.
It'd be crazy to not pick him up if he's available on a short term deal. The problem is he wants a long term deal and was already complaining about it in Seattle this last offseason. He's a very odd personality that you need to keep happy.
I disagree. Lynch is a lot better and doesn't get hurt a lot. But I would pass because your right we have a more pressing needs.
I wouldn't mind Lynch for the right price but when exactly is Ivory injured? He's been here almost 2 years now and has missed a whopping 1 game. He's been healthy pretty much his entire time with us.
The Jets need to stop going after vet running backs and find them in the draft. Lynch has a ton of miles on him at this point, we'd be signing him to watch his inevitable decline.
If Marty used Ivory as much as he should be used, this wouldn't even be a discussion. What we need is a mid to late round speed back, not another aging back who's probably not even the runner Ivory is at this point.
He's friends with Percy. And like Harvin might be considered too much of a distraction and a head case for Pete to deal with. It's a possibility. He's better than Chris Ivory who is very good.
It absolutely would be crazy. The running back cliff is steep and immediate and with the beating he has taken he serves no long term value and we don't need short term stop gaps.
I doubt we'd give him the deal he's looking for from Seattle..Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley would look a lot better in Green, although I don't see us drafting RB top 4-6. I'd say pass and strike in the deep RB class this year. I'm assuming he's traded and not cut..too valuable to be released. His whole Beast Mode persona might rub some people the wrong way, but he's one of the most recognizable stars in this league. I can easily see a team like Raiders or Jacksonville trading a mid round pick for him along with a new deal. Not only do you get the upgrade at the position you get a very marketable player to boost attendance for the less popular markets on the fringe of being moved to LA. He's not getting any younger but he's playing at a very high level. Talent should drop off year to year like all RBs but Lynch will still get it done.
Two games better than the jets for Mariotta, which is what Jets fans truly want - to be draft champions!
He's a terrific player, but RB is arguably the strongest position on the team. And we already have a young Marshawn Lynch clone.
As big of a fan I am of Lynch, I think we should pass. If we were going to acquire a running back I would want a Gio Bernard type. An example of a guy we could acquire is Josh Robinson out of Hail State.
