If Foles sucks then what is the word that you would use to describe our QB play for the last 4 seasons?

You arent going to get a Rodgers or Brady in free agency.

If Foles becomes available he would be the best QB option on the market.

And that includes the ones in the draft.

I'd rather not commit anything - trades and years - for Foles. Chip Kelly made Foles more than anything else. He's been pretty awful this year.

I'd call it "the worst in the league."

The Jets cannot keep letting the best players on the team get away. Vick is by far the superior QB on the team. Draft a new QB and have Geno as a back up or trade him and keep Simms. Particularly if the CS and FO does not change.

Agreed. So lots of QB's would be an upgrade.

To me though Foles would be a substantial upgrade. Even if he's only a guy that can go out an throw 25 TD's (low by today's standards)

IDK you dont just "make" 27 TD's and 2 picks last year.

He wasnt great this year when healthy but he wasn't awful either.

Geno was awful. Foles was average.

I'd love to have that type of averageness on the Jets.

When a team trades a QB who used to start I am skeptical. Kevin Kolb and Matt Cassel, for example.

Fair point. Cant argue with that. And in the end I cant see the Eagles ditching Foles anyways cause it would mean Sanchez comes in and runs with the job.

    Dont really see that happening.

But just like Kolb and Cassel there have been Carson Palmer, Alex Smith and Cutler. Not huge names but all would've been better than what we had the last few seasons.

Im just being realistic. The chances of getting a franchise QB through free agency or trade is almost zero. And the draft isnt guaranteed either.

At this point I just want an upgrade with a little bit of a track record. Tired of the unprovens through the draft.

Kelly gets the credit for last year but Foles takes the blame for this year?

    Definitely a Jets fan.

If he finishes out this year fairly well, absolutely. We need a veteran QB holding down the fort with a rookie on the bench for next year at the minimum. What do you guys think about bringing in Jake Locker? He's injury prone yes, but I like him.

    Vick's games played since 2009:

    age 29, 2009 - 12
    age 30, 2010 - 12
    age 31, 2011 -13
    age 32, 2012 - 10
    age 33, 2013 - 7

I highly doubt he can stay healthy this year at age 35 or next year at 36 but that's just me.

Why don't we wait and see how this season shakes out first before making the call on Vick. Two good games isn't enough to base this kind of decision on because anyone would look great compared to Eugene.

I believe keep Vick if possible. Everyone seems to be saying draft the next qb first round and develop behind Vick. It depends on FA. If we do not get a reciever such as Crabtree or i pray dez or demarious then draft amari cooper or the big wr from West Virginia. A veteran qb will help develop the young wr core and then the next year bring in the qb. If I sound stupid or have bad grammar I'm on my phone in the hospital on pain meds right now from back surgery lets go jets! And screw loosing on purpose for a crapshoot draft pick. I'm in pain right now and people like me needed that steeler game to lift our spirits

Garrett Grayson will be the best QB to come out of that class. I still want Mariota but if we're not picking in the top 5, I'd rather not trade up.

Sanchez looks like Aaron Rodgers tonight. The best game he's played in years ... Maybe since our playoff win vs. Pats.
I need to see a few more games like this before I believe he's a different player in this system, but this is certainly a good start.

Yep. Bring Vick back, hire an offensive minded head coach, and draft Mariota. BOOM.

No pass rush and star caliber players all over the field will make any Qb look great. That is probably the most talented offense in football. Sanchez is very fortunate.
