I personally don't care. I'm just telling you that was a pretty dumb comment that added absolutely nothing of value to the actual conversation.

Why because every time he gets hit it takes him 20 seconds to get up... Guy is made of glass.. This will be his last year in the NFL...

We win one game and everyone wants Vick to stay... Lets not get carried away.

Possibly. Way too early for this poll, IMO.

I voted no at first. But maybe you guys are right. If we can draft Mariota, it is probably better to sit him the first season so he can learn the pro style offense and get up to speed with the pros as opposed to throwing him out there day 1 like Sanchez and Geno. Vick can start, and be competent for us. Mariota can also learn from Vick, since they are similar style QBs. Mariota is one of the fastest QBs I've seen play since Vick. Then, the season after he should be ready to take over, unless Vick gets hurt midseason. If this is the case, then put Mariota in and there is not much pressure on him unless it's a miraculous season and we are legit playoff contenders.

The Jets would have a better record if they started Vick and Jarrett all season instead of Geno and Pryor.

I think it's more-so of the Jets finding insurance at the QB position, then Vick having a good game. I look at the vets available, and while I would take Bradford over Vick if available, it's tough to say if he will be available.

I do know one thing, I don't want to throw a rookie QB into the fire right away when we draft one next yr.

A bit too early for me to say he's any better than Bradford/Austin Davis/Hoyer.

He had a nice game yesterday to be sure, but it was only one game. If he continues to play like he did last night, than I have no problem with it. If they do decide to bring him back on a 2 year deal, they better have a rookie QB waiting in the wings like a Mariota/Winston/Cook/Mannion.

I voted yes because I don't know how to quantify Bradford as an option. It's not clear to me that the Rams will get rid of/trade him. If I thought Bradford was available, though, he has the edge in age over Vick. He's probably not an edge in the fragility factor, though.

If Bradford is NOT available, then Vick is the best option.

I also like Hoyer, but imo the Browns are not going to get rid of him unless he starts playing badly. In which case why would the Jets want him? I count him as not going to be available, but in the game against the Bengals, he looked much better than Dalton. Heh.

No matter who is running the Jets next year, or what Qb might be available in the draft, I have a hard time imagining the Jets going with starting a rookie Qb in succession after Sanchez and Smith. Do we really want to see the team go there? Again? In other words, it's not just what you want, which I obviously agree with. I can't see the team going that route.

After seeing what they did with Sanchez and Smith, would you be surprised to see a rookie QB (who isn't ready to play) out there thrown into the fire week 1? I wouldn't be surprised.

It's why I hope a player like Bradford or Vick is available for us to sign. I think Bradford still has much to prove in this league and to an extent so does Michael Vick. If Bradford gets healthy this off-season, I really want to see this guy perform with Harvin, Decker and Amaro.

I don't think I've ever seen someone perform as well in the Schottenheimer offense then Bradford did before he got hurt this season. Hardly no TOs, and he made plays.

You think Mark Sanchez is a better option than Vick? Get a good look tonight and talk to me tomorrow.
    Matt Moore?? Come on.
Hoyer has been very good, but such a small sample.
Mariota? ... who can tell? But If we draft him, I'd still like to sit him for a year before throwing him to the wolves like we did to the last two guys.

I think a big part of Sanchez failing was a bad o-line and no receivers. He's not a good QB but he's proven he CAN win games.
Moore has done decent on very mediocre teams.
Hoyer I'm not convinced is the greatest option but I think he's serviceable.
Mariota I'm not sold on but I'd rather take a chance on a QB who may actually have what it takes over a declining QB who doesn't.

Only if they can't find anything better in the draft or free agency. I hope they can do something to get Marcus MAriota, but if they can't do that, or get any decent free agent, obviously they need to go with what they've got.

Surprise factor aside, and yes if the current regime remains in place, anything is possible, it is the very, very rare rookie qb who can start opening day and then proceed to develop at something like a decent rate. Luck and Wilson are the exceptions.

Add in the unknown factor of how even a high draft pick Qb can do in the transition to the NFL, and a more proven commodity, at least in the short run, is the way to go.

We talked about Bradford before. I am concerned about his health, but he's shown me that he's got enough talent to get it done with this offense. Get a good replacement for Colon and this O would be competitive by next opening day.

But... again I don't assume he would be available. Same for Hoyer.
