Last week was the first time all year and now we have two weeks in a row.

It's really an exclamation point on the crying shame of not allowing vick to compete for the starting job in preseason. seems we trashed the season to evaluate a garbage qb whom rex still believes in according to his presser. there was really no need to say that.

Vick should've been the starter week 1, Geno Smith is heaping pile of shit , but that's Rex doesn't have a clue when it comes to QB position

I was wondering when someone would say what didn't need to be said.

Good observation, the team works when run by someone with half a brain

Like popping one of those big juicy zits that won't go away for a week. Or 8 weeks, in this case.

I think we would have won more games, but we needed Geno out there to know without a doubt he's not the future. And he proved it in a big way. Better that then starting Vick from day 1 with the view that Geno would take over next year.

Counterpoint - We still lost last week so it's not like it matters.

We didn't NEED to know anything about geno other than whether or not he could beat out Mike Vick in a true qb competition.

Why did we "need to know"? Isn't the purpose of a football season to win games? Once the guy started dropping turds left and right, he should have hit the bench with light speed, but instead they basically threw an entire season away instead of just letting him sit the bench for better or worse.

Today's game just puts emphasis on just how bad Geno Smith was and how much better off we are without him.

Now we can use the next few games to properly evaluate the talent on this team and figure out what our needs really are heading into the off-season.

Perhaps we do not need to use our next five first rounders on wide receivers after all.

The way things look right now we've got play makers and need a QB and an upgrade at guard to round the offense out. On defense we need a LB and a CB and a FS, unless Jarrett's performance was more than a one-game wonder.

If the Jets went QB in the 1st and LB, DB in the 2nd and 3rd we'd probably be better off than we've been in awhile.

3 out of the last 4 games too right?

I thought we were "mistake" free in NE in the turnover department

It keeps the Jets more competitive.

We didn't need to do it once we traded for Percy, regardless of QB. Decker, Percy, Kerley with Amaro receiving wise is a good combination. You have to worry with Percy's injury history, hopefully next man can step up if that occurs.

it doesn't matter because we waited until we were 1-7 to start the only nfl qb on the roster. things could have been a lot different.

Fair point but actually Geno did ok on turnovers the last 4 games of 2013 when he had 4 Td passes, 2 picks and 0 fumbles. So I can understand giving him the starters job. But don't say there's a Qb competition when there isn't. I also like the fact that they benched him something they never did with Mark Sanchez.

That is part of the point I was trying to make. If you read through the posts from the last week there were quite a few advocating the selection of Amari Cooper in round one.

Oh. Got it. I mean if he's the best player there and we cannot trade down, sure. But I wouldn't be rushing thinking WR is awekaness. I thought we all agreed about that when we traded for Percy
