Does anyone else feel like Chad would be a good fit for the coaching staff? Now I'm not saying the guy should jump in and be HC next year, seeing as he's coaching middle schoolers right now, but make him the QB's coach and let him move up to OC and it might be a great fit. Chad's a smart football minded guy who gave his all when he was here for us, and I'm willing to bet he'd do the same as a coach. Seeing as average QB's of the past end up as HC's (Harbaugh, Garrett) I say we clean house next year and bring in Chad to coach QB's and we might have a solid HC option in 3-5 years.

Chad's a good man and would be an asset to anybody. Don't know his status but maybe the Woodster should consider him as a consultant at least. Get somebody with a brain that knows something about football into his circle besides these cutthroat bean counters he has behind the scenes

I like the idea, though it obviously depends who is GM and HC.

I am amazed he isn't a QB coach somewhere, even if in college. Very smart, very humble dude.

Has he ever even talked about wanting to coach?

Chad is one of my favorite all time Jets, probably due to the fact that I'm relatively young, but I think he is a very smart football mind. I think he would have been a great QB for us had it not been for his noodle arm. He had great accuracy and IQ with his decision making.

He should absolutely be brought into the coaching staff.

Would be a good QB coach to be honest.

I always found him to be a great PR man for the Jets when he was a player. Well spoken; unlike our clown HC. Always made himself available to the press, always acted with respect and dignity. He is a bright young man; I am sure he would be a nice addition to any staff - however, like said in previous post, this is really a GM / Head Coach decision. But, maybe when the bulldozer comes through at season's end....you never know.

If I'm not mistaken, Chad's dad has been a successful high school football HC. I definitely think Chad will develop into an excellent HC. I'm surprised he's coaching Middle Schoolers, however. I would think he could have started at least at the HS level as a QB Coach or OC, if not as HC, and at the collegiate level as a QB coach or OC.

I'd love to see Chad brought back to the Jets in some capacity, but if we're fortunate enough to get a new HC & GM, that will be up to the new men who are hired.

Here's another question: Why would Chad ever want to coach for the Jets?

He will give this franchise a big fat FUCK YOU on hearing such an offer. Not a chance.

I would, if I were Chad. I am still pissed over how Chad was off-loaded. That shouldn't have been how he was treated, much less jettisoned.

I'm thinking this is his choice. Any HS would go mad for a former NFLer, but he hasn't been retired all that long and getting away from the issues of an adult locker room and coaching the 'back to basics' is appealing to some people. I think this is especially true for those without an ego to feed like CP or whose ego is well-fed with success like joe Gibbs.

Bullshit--he was released so he could have his choice of teams to go to--if anything, the Jets FO bent over backwards to treat him with respect. They could have tried to trade him but then he would have to go with the team who made the trade and even though this would have gained a draft pick, the FO sacrificed this pick for CP's sake.

Gibbs loves racing more than football and has since his first retirement. I couldn't believe when that turd lump Snyder convinced him to come back, but it was probably just to make some more money for his race team.

No, no and no. Who's next? Keyshawn as OC? The Jets need proven commodities, not some former Jet who's looking to get his first crack at coaching. That's the opposite of what this franchise needs.

I thought he was coaching kids football as well? I could be wrong, I'm not exactly keeping tabs on him, but that's the last I heard. I agree with you, btw, I was astonished Gibbs came back to coach under Snyder. He had nothing to prove and I can't imagine that anyone with a choice would want to work for Snyder. I suppose he wanted to give it one last go...
