Yep. That team was the team Rex inherited. When that team beat Tennessee and was 8-3, it was one of the best teams in the league. That team was built by Mangini and Tanny. Woody didn't like Mangini and his style. Something happened between them. I believe Mangini told him to fuck off. That was his demise. That and Woodly thinking he had a fucking clue about football in the NFL
Idzik wouldn't answer that question (or any other) at his presser. He gave a vague blanket answer which totally pissed everybody off. So it's not off the table that he fires Rex after the Jets lose next week. You're obviously not getting a good effort from this team even though today was a lot better than last week. They have no coach on their staff (Except Marty) with significant head coaching experience. So keep him for the rest of the season.
That's my point. If you're so sure Geno is not the answer, then why would you want Vick to be playing? Do you want to win more games, and not get a franchise QB?
I miss the days when Rex was large and in charge! I understand the lap band surgery was good for his health and all, but Rex kind of lost his swag when he lost all those pounds. THIS is what an NFL coach is supposed to look like!
Maybe the org just wants to win games. To me Vick gives them the best chance to win. Mike can still turn a game around. He was ok today. And should improve with more play.
Let's face it. A very poor season gets us a top QB for the future. Isn't that how the Colts got Luck? If we can manage to qualify for Mariota or another top guy we should go for it. Let's face it, to us fans who cares who is the coach or GM. This will be last post my until next season. Root for Tenn. and Houston. They are the competition for the best QB on the board.
I'm not high on Idzik but you can't hire a new GM and not let him pick his coach. They want you to cook the dinner; at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries. Okay? Idzik should get a pass in my opinion but I wouldn't be sad seeing him go.
For all the shitty coaches we have had over the years, never in the Titans/Jets history have we lost 9 in a row. Next week, that distinction will belong to the great Rex Ryan.
in what world does your team go 1 and freaking 8 with no talent and you keep your job? esp in the case of the gm when it is your job to get talent. he has no plan can't draft and is fielded a sub par team either thru stupidity or sabotage either way he has fucked the franchise and the fans and you want to keep him. no thanks he has to go with rex. part of the reason why rex is getting fired is because of lack of talent that is on the gm buddy Idzik is an assclown that has set the team back 4 yrs and needs to go 2 bad drafts in a row 4 high value picks (1st and second ) and finds 2 players cuts 7 players out of 12 in this draft the bad news keeps coming
I don't see that happening Woody Johnson is always pretty adamant on evaluating things in the offseason.
The team hasn't been good for 4 seasons now. Need to clean house including the scouting staff. Maybe not fair to Idzik but oh well.
have you ever watched Simms play? do you think he was going to do any better? really? and as much as fans may want the team to lose to force regime change/better draft picks, it doesn't work like that for the team who funnily enough want to keep their jobs and are going to do whatever they think will keep them there.
What really blows is Rex ruined his legacy here ,instead of fond memories of AFC title games and Superbowl guarntees, we are gonna remeber this season and the last few years instead
