My other option...And probably someone on Idzik's radar

    DC: Dan Quinn of Seahawks
    [IMG]
He’s obsessive in the film room, and his defense embarrassed Peyton Manning on the game’s biggest stage. But what really has Seattle coordinator Dan Quinn on the fast track is the trusting relationships he builds with players. Such is the hallmark of Quinn as a man and a coach—an open-mindedness that has vaulted the New Jersey native, at age 43, to the top of football’s unofficial power ranking of future head coaches. During what will likely be his last training camp as a coordinator, the brains behind football’s No. 1 defense sports a loose-fitting t-shirt, a weathered cap and a toothy grin.

An ironic choice would be Kevin Gilbride the former offensive coordinator of the Giants during their last two Superbowls.

During our playoff appearance against the Houston Oilers in 1991 with Ken O'Brien at QB Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gibride in the face when we intercepted the ball. At the time, Ryan was DC and Gilbride was OC for the Oilers. The Oilers had a run and shoot offense which Ryan referred to as the "Chuck and Duck".

As long as we don't have a QB it won't matter

Why would Saban ever want to leave Alabama where he is a God, and getting paid like one, to come deal with all the nonsense and scrutiny of coaching this dysfunctional franchise and dealing with the NY media? He's not leaving 'Bama, and especially not for the Jets.

Hard to say without knowing if even Idzik will be back (he shouldn't be back though)

Why would any nfl team want Saban? Anyone who is enamored by what he has done at Alabama and is ignoring what he did with the Fins doesn't know shit about either college football or the NFL.

How does being able to accrue more talent than anyone else in college translate to success in the NFL ? because we've already seen he doesn't have a strategic advantage in the NFL.

Mentioning Saban should be ban worthy.

it wont make any difference unless or until they sort the QB position - so basically anyone or no-one, it doesn't matter - if we sort the QB position then any coach will look good, if we don't then any coach will look bad.

I mean look at this - this is the nfl.com coach power rankings before the start of the season - http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap2000000365040 - look at the top 10 "rated" coaches - every single one (except Reid at #10 has a good to very good QB) - you think that's a coincidence?

He'll be back if for no other reason than he saved Woody $21mil without batting an eye or signing a check.

Kind of like how Pete Carroll sucked with the Jets and then built a dynasty at USC and then turned the Seahwaks into SB champs? A dynasty very similar to what Saban has done at Alabama after leaving the Fins. It's actually a very valid question to ask about Saban as his name frequently gets thrown around for NFL jobs whenever there's an opening. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he's not a very popular name for HC openings. However, Saban would never leave his Lofty gig at 'Bama and anyone who has a clue knows that. Sounds like the only one who doesn't know "shot" is you.

I think the question is what candidates are realistic options. Quinn maybe given his relationship with Idzik.

Shaw is a good mention. A guy that could be a good representative and face of a franchise. An intelligent, well rounded, football guy.

At this point who would want to subject themselves to this BS. It would take money. Hear that Wouldy?

It's all for naught if Wouldy Jackass continues to interject his lame, dysfunctional, ass into the equation

That's exactly the type of guy this franchise needs after Rex. Agreed, this could be the bigger question. Who in their right mind would come here with this dysfunction? Woody's gonna have to pay up big-time!

Rex wasn't Idziks coach. Idzik gets to have a coach before he's canned. But we will have a new QB
