Ha ha so true. No excuses for Geno now. I actually think this trade signifies Rex may be safer than people think. If we make a little run now and still miss the playoffs, keeping Rex becomes much more palatable to the media/public/SOJ crowd
Good thing we have a few extra days before Buffalo comes to town. I wonder what number he'll wear. 12 is retired and Kerley's got 11.
I don't know you may be right but its all to fishy and Jets like. They want seats filled after the bye
the fact he hasn't eclipsed 60 yards receiving this year doesn't bother me you have to remember he was coming off a major hip injury and plays for Seattle, the most run-heavy offense in the league and with a QB who spreads it around and throws to the open guy instead of force feeding a #1 he had 3 TDs called back by penalties in the REdskins game the biggest question here is will he be a good solider and can he stay healthy
I like this move... Minus the SD game, every game this season was in our hands ESPECIALLY the Packers game. I think this move might have gave Rex and Idzik another year? For me personally, I wouldn't mind because continuity is KEY... and Rome wasn't built in...2 years?
I never adressed that part of your post, I was specifically responding to your statement when you called Harvin "old". As for Idzik I'm not a fan of his, but Harvin's value is at an all time low, because he's played poor over the last few weeks. Mix that in with Seattle's cap situation, and you have a week seven trade trade for a dynamic player. I'd be beyond shocked, if Idzik was fired after two years on the job.
Fischer is terrible. He's WalterFootball lite, his detest of Geno Smith rivals some posters on here. I don't think he's technically wrong though.
I like having more good players on the roster but this feels like a desperate move to save jobs. That’s a sign we had poor management to begin with. I didn’t read all nine pages. Have the details come out about the trade?
just seems a bizarre move - when was the last time a top tier WR got traded, especially getting traded mid-season by a contender? its way too late for him to learn the playbook and so isn't going to be effective for weeks if at all this season - if as is claimed we are in total rebuild mode then why the hell tie up a huge amount of cap space in a player like this that we don't have the QB to exploit fully? any faith I had in idzik (which was pretty much none) has just gone out of the window - and that's before you get to looking at it costing us a pick - seems like a terrible move by a terribly run franchise
If we actually got him for a mid round pick this is a steal! Harvin is the type of talent you draft in the first round.
I agree he Idzik may not be, but Rex is gaining momentum here expect him for another year. And like dog years NFL years take a toll on someone even a 26 year old
Yes but the signing bonus has obviously already been paid and the guaranteed money runs out after next year I believe
FACTS- Harvin has never had 1000 yards in a season, nor scored double digit touchdowns. Two teams traded this guy away during his prime.
The sad part is... I think Woody had a hand in this so that people actually show up to the rest of the home games this yr...
Someone in Seattle isn't happy. According to Wikipedia: "On October 17, 2014 Harvin was traded to the New York Jets for a two packs of big league chew (the purple flavor) and half a pack of Big Red, Pete Carroll's favorites.[34][35]"
Seahawks traded a first round pick to the Vikings for him, some how this sounds to good to be true,What kind of drama was he causing over in Seatlle that they would ditch a guy they traded a first round pick for,I'm excited either way even tho season is over
