He used to be questionable every week b/c of migraines. He did break his leg before last season (after seattle traded for him) and missed the whole year.
Keep in mind that when the Seahawks got him, Russell Wilson looked promising but not like what he did last season. The season after they traded for him, Richard Sherman AND Earl Thomas had all pro level seasons, and needed no deals simultaneously. Russell Wilson won the Super Bowl, and is going to need a big boy contract this offseason. Byron Maxwell, KJ Wright and Malcolm Smith are both FA's this year. Assuming this has to do entirely with Harvin is misguided, they are lucky to get him off their cap or they would risk losing too many pieces of their team.
Hell yeah!!! We're only on the hook for $7 million of his salary for this year. The rest is not guaranteed. He does well, sign him long term!!! Awesome move!!
Ouch.... Hurts because it's probably true Twitter @FFMetrics Percy Harvin, because of lack of performance, was going to get ditched by Seattle at year’s end anyway ($10.5M salary next year…I don’t think so). So this is likely a locker room cancer removed…smart move by Seattle. Who picks him up? One of the most dysfunctional locker rooms/organizations in the NFL. This is not FF-good if you own Percy Harvin. He was already radically under-performing, and near useless as it pertained to the Seattle Super Bowl run…and he has done nothing but score TDs called back on penalties this year. This is marriage of two combustible ‘bad’ situations…this is Santonio Holmes 2.0. There will be a lot of Jets bluster on all the various ways they are going to use Harvin, and he might actually have a nice debut…but you should get out of this FF/Dynasty stock if you can salvage some value for it now…or after the initial ‘splash’. Somebody will like this move in your league, and desire Harvin…hopefully. Harvin last caught a TD pass in October 2012. Harvin has not cracked 60+ yards receiving in a game for Seattle in his time served there. The FF-winner from this on Seattle? I don’t know that much changes because Seattle was operating without him as it was. The FF-winner for the Jets? Harvin for a game, perhaps, before he gets ‘hurt’ again. This pulls attention from developing Jace Amaro, and this is not the influence you need for Geno Smith…it’s all downhill in NYJ. There is the saying, “The rich get richer,” but for the Jets this is “The sad getting sadder.” I can only imagine the Raiders were the other team in the mix on this deal… – R.C. This! At the same time what confidence would we have that we would take advantage of the extra picks we would get from trading back?
Harvin had 3 TDs called back against Washinigton due to penalties Aboushi and Colon and Co. will probably nullify his production here too with stupid penalties but he can still ball IF he can stay healthy. Seattle was probably tired of the injuries and perhaps diva / malcontent locker room stuff
Pffft....stupid, desperate move by a GM that, as long as Woody still has stones between his legs, will fire after this bullshit of a season. I'm done on this topic. Moving on...
Look this may be an unpopular opinion and maybe i'm wrong but he is reaching the end of his NFL life because of injuries. But I accept the fact I may be wrong. Just why so late Idzik ? a little to late no ?
Very nice pickup if he can stay healthy. Squarely in his prime, this guy's the type of playmaker this team needs more of.
If Amaro, Harvin, and Decker are all healthy does Geno still get a pass or can he be held accountable if he still sucks? No more excuses now.
Unreal that people are complaining about this deal. Absolutely unreal. We wonder why our fanbase has such a shit reputation.
