this goes back to Idzik building this team for the long haul not for 2014. he's willing to spend on players he thinks are worth it. It made no sense to overpay for guys they didn't like. Decker and Havin w/ the development of Amaro is a nice receiving corps.
I don't think it makes sense for the Seahawks. I think I love this move on behalf of the Jets (so long as the conditional isn't a 1st rounder or something crazy.)
I think this was in the works before last night but with the 10 days now to get Harvin up to date with the offense, this is the time to pull the trigger. I don't mind it but I also know Harvin isn't far from Santonio Holmes in the attitude department. He's also very brittle. But he blows away our talent on offense without question and gets himself OPEN. Yes he gets himself open.
Great move if for anything above a fourth, but ass backwards for timing. Cdnt get this done before the NE game? That said, this does significantly improve the WR corps and I think signals the end of Kerley. Now we need a tall deep/red zone threat.
Maybe Idzik got tired of being criticized for $21 million of cap space lol, now that number's cut significantly. Or he wanted to give Geno one more chance with an actual NFL WR core before cutting the cord.
Harvin is a cancer but Doug Balwin isn't who sucks and was going nuts on Wilson on the sidelines and talking shit in the media after
At this point I almost don't care since Idzik's drafts stink anyway. It's just the idea that they could have had DRC AND another NFL WR for the same money and instead they shoot the wad on an injury-prone Santonio Holmes replacement after a 1-6 start.
This is fishy shit. Contenders don't just deal playmakers like that. I think we were dealt damaged goods or something.
