Surprised nobody commented on this article by Manish:

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/mehta-geno-smith-pulled-fast-jets-article-1.1970991

Experts were right about Geno before the draft:

I would add myself that his pouting when he slid on Draft Night was NOT a good sign. Contrast his attitude with that of Aaron Rodgers or others who have slid.

Geno has brought all this on himself. He is not the answer.

At least Geno didn't slide all the way down to 5th like McCarron did, even with less impressive resume and no championship experience. Just who thought it was a brilliant fucking idea to draft that retard anyway?

Manish is an idiot, and he makes himself look idiotic when he puts out articles like these.

Geno did not fool the NFL, he was on his way to being a 4th or 5th round pick if the jets had not picked him.

Everyone but the jets saw that he was not worthy of such a high second round pick.

The suckers are the posters above who continue to complain about the QB after yesterday's game when he was not to blame for the loss and actually played pretty well. There was no running game, little time to throw, multiple dropped passes, nobody getting separation, a huge special teams turnover, and a defense that gave up two long drives in consecutive possessions at the end of the seroconversion quarter and start of the third that turned a 10-7 game into a 24-7 game. I'm not saying Smith is the answer at QB, but he is by far not the only reason for the 1-5 start.

The biggest disappointment this season has to be the O line. Geno has his problems, don't get me wrong, but the protection of the QB this season has really been troubling.
Winters and Ducasse have been failures and our "studs" in Brick & Mangold have certainly showed signs of age.
As much as it's not going to be the "sexy" pick in the draft, this is a position that needs addressing in 2015 and/or FA.
When given time Geno is a different QB. Now I'm not saying he's a definite answer at the position with better protection , but one can't deny the fact that the breakdown along the O line isn't something that needs fixing for any QB who lines up behind center going forward.

More and more looked like Manish pulled a fast one on us making us think when he started he would be a good beat writer.

These posters are full of shit and are clearly agenda driven. I can respect a few because they've been consistent in their opinions/thoughts. It's just a certain few that have a clear agenda that I find he-larry-us.

Thats news to me that Geno said he got kicked off because he was black, thought the airlines apologized to Geno after all of that and he took the highroad.

Manish is a well-known bullshitter, and he knows the pot is hot when it comes to Geno Smith. The NY Daily News are creatures of habit for this type of stuff. This shit has nothing to do with on the field production and how poor the team has been. Its why I never blamed Geno last week for not giving the guy straightup answers or kissing his ass. He's a rat and doesn't deserve that respect.

Manish knows what he is doing and knows why he's releasing this on such a short week. There was so much time in the offseason, you're telling me that these beat reporters were whining about Idzik giving them no information that they could not have made this a story before then? He knows Geno will get bombarded with questions about this and knows if he doesn't answer them(I don't want him to, go study for this Thursday's game), its another public black eye.

Please don't feed this guy your clicks or views. He's scum. He might be a decent enough beat reporter but the NY Daily News are so desperate for views/clicks they force the button on guys like Frank Isola and Manish Mehta to have grinds to pick against the organizations they cover.

This is his shtick he's always trying to steer up controversy. Before it was anonymous quotes and now that Idzik gives him nothing he's now picking on an easy target in Geno.

I think Geno has the talent to play in this league but it was asinine to draft him last year when we had a QB. Instead of drafting D every year(and our D still stinks) maybe we should have drafted some weapons for the QB?

Well the fans and media outlets are eating it up and giving Manish his attention. He's a regular on Profootballtalk and a few sports radio hosts bring him up as a guest.

He's good at what he does. Despicable but he knows what he's doing, he's playing to the fickleness of some Jets fans by attacking 3 major culprits in Idzik, Geno and Rex. There's been other problems on the team but those don't sell papers or clicks.

Can we take up a collection to get this troll to a new squad. The team is bad enough as it is but the toxic media atmosphere does not help the team at all. Making the players talk to such asswads of human beings cannot contribute to a positive attitude and team image. The sooner the Jets can rid themselves of Cimini, Mehta and maybe even Costello the better.

The fans that bought it already had an agenda to begin with so in their eyes it's validation. Mehta doesn't like Idzik since he doesn't give him any information like Tanny used to. That's where his issues with him comes from.

I called him a rural thug, and got called a racist by a few on this board. But I saw this clown for 2 years at WV, also got the liberty of watching him live twice in his last year there, and knew he was a total paper a**hole.

What we should have done was look to get the offensive line and receiver core upgraded in 2013, if Mark fails in 2013 you cut him and draft a QB in the first round in 2014. That would have been the way to go.
