It doesn't matter. You give the next guy a chance. Look at what Austin Howard as able to do. If you pull Geno, you have to pull Winters, Chris Johnson, and David Nelson among others. If we're gonna be a losing team, other guys need chances.
What other guys? There are no rookies to develop behind them. Maybe they should spend some money on the O line instead
You're missing the point. You think we had any clue what we had in Howard? Hell no. He proved himself, just like a guy like Aboushi or Powell or Salas should get thhe opportunity to. I've been behind Geno all year and I'm still behind him, but do I think bringing in Vick at the half was the right thing to do last week? You bet your ass I do. We're a team that's supposed to be driven by competition. Well...let them compete. Sinking money into random positions isn't how you get a consistent winning football team, though, I do agree that bringing in a guard wouldn't have been a bad idea.
If you have young guys, now is the time to play them imo. Yeah, helping the O line is always a good idea
Terrance Williams, Keenan Allen, Markus Wheaton, Logan Ryan man any of those guys would look much better in a Jet uniform. Hope Winters pans out though
Sure seemed like Aboushi outplayed Winters in the preseason, I was pretty surprised when Winters kept the starting job.
There was no question he outplayed Winters. Not that I have anything against Idzik, but it seems he's trying to force his third rounder Winters into the lineup when it's obvious the guy can't cut it.
He has easily been our best lineman this season. the all-22 film clearly has shown this. Mangold on the other hand has really taken a step back, and has been our biggest issue on the oline this year
Mangold has been our best offensive lineman. I don't like PFF all that much but they ranked him the #1 center in football.
Holy fuck. So in a matter of two minutes I have read posts from you stating that there aren't 5 rushing corps worse than ours and now that you think Winters has been our best offensive lineman. Holy fuck.
Haha, i hope youre joking. The guy is a human turnstile and has directly resulted in a few turnovers all by himself this year.
We are having huge issues in pass protection up the gut. That's why Geno and Vick can't step into a throw. Winters, Colon AND MANGOKD NEED TO GET IT TOGTHER
Mangold has to account for shitty guards on each side. Both are AWFUL in pass-protection. Halfway decent in the run game. That's not fair to Mangold in my opinion.
Mangold is in the same situation he was in with Sanchez. Geno can't call the offensive line assignments because he can barely do his own job. Watch the play before it happens. Nick is telling the OL what to do. Then he puts his head down for the snap and the defense shifts, and he has a couple of turds on either side of him. He's been at a disadvantage since 2009.
No doubt. Their is a reason so many O-linemen are getting drafted in the top ten. Dallas is proof of that. D Brick and Mangold aren't getting any younger. The team has so many holes I'm not sure what to think any more. Just kind of tired at the list of over-paid vets that come here to retire over the years CJ, Vick, Lott, Atwater. Could have had somebody that would actually make a difference.
Dallas' 4-1 record is a direct result of drafting Tyron Smith, Travis Federick and Zach Martin over the past few years. Proof yet again how o-line investment reaps winning results.
