I had to travel 200 miles Sunday afternoon for work. However, I listened to the entire Jets-Chargers game on satellite radio on the Chargers' network (could not get the jets announcers). The Chargers pre-game show forecasted a difficult game because of they were playing "a Rex Ryan defense." Once the game started the Chargers announcers CHANGED THEIR TUNE! THey kept repeating they couldn't believe how BAD the jets are, players AND coaches. Hank Bauer, the Chargers color guy, said that he had never witnessed a game wherein one team (the jets) were so badly OUTCOACHED by another team the Chargers. Bauer kept noting that Rex Ryan was blitzing on EVERY third down, Rivers knew it was coming, and calmly checked down to his hot receiver. They also mentioned that the jets were the worst disciplined team they had seen in years because of all the false start penalites, 12 men in the huddle, personal fouls after the play was over, etc. When the game was mercifully over, they announced that the Chargers had shut out what they called the "SENSELESS" jets. They said that the jets were even worse than the jags, who the chargers have also beaten this year. Anyone want to tell me AGAIN that I'm wrong in wanting Rex Ryan fired?

Obviously some will be ready to attack those announcers for stating what anyone not drinking the Rex Ryan Kool Aid can plainly see.
The lack of discipline is something a Rex Ryan coached team should be more known for then being a top defense. This is something that's be going on since this blowhard has been our HC.
There's no accountability in that locker room, not now, not ever.
Everyone wants to pat Rex on the back for taking all the blame on himself, well how is that holding players accountable for screw ups on the field?
Geno misses a meeting because he screwed up the time change on the west coast and was at a movie and he doesn't get benched for at least the first series?
    Are you fu€kin kidding me?!!!
How is that holding players accountable?
We've got to hold some kind of record for 12 men on the field penalties!!!!!!!

Rex blitzing on EVERY FU€k'n 3rd down, raise your hand if you've been seeing that too!!!
    That's being a defensive genius!!???
    PREDICTABLE!!!!!!
You want a coach to keep your team on the back page of the newspaper everyday, Rex is Vince Lombardi.
You want a coach who has a clue, well that's another story .

I'm tired of hearing how much his players love playing for him, that's IRRELEVANT!
I'd like hanging out at Johnny's house because his mom lets us drink beer and smoke weed instead of doing our homework, that's the same notion!

This team has no credibility, they're back to being a laughingstock and I for one can't take this shit anymore !

Just want to point out Seahawks had 12 penaltys last night,it seems like they do every week.Only diffrence is we don't have the talent to overcome it they do.And he blitzes a lot because he has no faith in his corners. That's the only reason he is blitzing so hard he thinks its the only way.If he rushes 3 and drops the rest he might be surprised

Right. Good points. I dont know if we have enough talent to rush 3 and drop 8 though

Btw Josh Lewin who also does the Mets radio broadcasts with Howie Rose is the Chargers radio play by play man so he knows something about New York sports. Everything Hank Bauer said about the Jets is true. Rex's blitz packages are predictable and any experienced NFL Qb and coaching staff can figure them out. They'll get a few sacks here and there and because of the talent on the line make some stops but too often they'll give up big plays.

Not to mention the Chargers blitzed us just as many times. They just had a QB that could recognize it and make quick decisions under pressure and WRs that can get open and/or make a play on the ball when matched up one on one, not unlike Seattle.

Seahawks are a one win team so far this year without Russell Wilson and so are we.

You would think that after the Bears game that Rex would change it up on 3rd down. Its clear bringing the house doesnt work. Playing LB's on hall of fame TE's and leaving Walls and Wilson in prime position to get burned.

With all the things I could bitch about right now the 3rd down defense gets me the most nuts. Its like you know once the opposing team gets to 3rd down they will convert.

I watched the game without sound. Looked like a steaming pile of dogshit regardless of the soundtrack.

They're right that the Jets are horribly undisciplined. It's embarrassingly bad. Every week we get flagged for 12 guys on the field or 12 men in the huddle.

I've been saying for weeks now that, with this roster, we'd be much better off playing conservatively, relying on our defensive line to generate pressure, and letting our defensive backs keep things in front of them by playing more zone. But Rex has an Ego. He blitzes. It's what he does. And he's a defensive genius. Questioning his great defenses is not wise. Ever.
