Im an Eagles fan and Vick didnt lose his job to Foles because of poor play he actually was playing pretty good, he just got hurt and Foles got his chance. With that being said Foles is one of the better qbs in the league.

I didn't mean to suggest that Vick in fact has deteriorated so much that he literally is a qb clearly worse than Smith right now.

Here's my thing about Ryan. He imo is still doing a very good job with the D when he's working with a roster there that is not what he wanted to have in terms of the Cb's.

And it is entirely possible that the decision to continue playing Smith is Idzik's, and Ryan is merely being the good soldier not blaming Idzik for the decision. That's not a great situation, and I am not suggesting Ryan get a free pass for deferring on what is to my mind clearly the wrong decision here.

But even if Ryan is not at fault for the situation with the roster and in particular for Smith's lousy play, he can still do things that would make us conclude he's got to go. He can lose all his cred for one. All of it. Who wants to have an HC whose word is meaningless? I mean there's coachspeak, and being optimistic in the off season and all that. But no cred whatsoever? Ryan is getting close to that when he says Smith is the best option for success right now.

I probably should not have said loser. I do not like to call anyone a loser, actually. I just think he is inaccurate and mistake prone. Like Geno.

    We're one and three..

This season is over before September is over.

8-8, is now the measure of success.

Let anyone of the Genomaniacs tell me with a straight face, we aren't 4-0 with Philly's backup, right now.

REX isn't riding Geno, IDZIK is...

Rex's QB plays in Philly now.

The sick part of that is, (and you can check my posts...) I said Sanchez would be playing for 4 mil this year...and that's what the Jets should have offered him.

Idzik it seems is wrapped into the whole....for lack of a better descritptor "athletic" QB thing... even if Geno didn't suck... for thed same 4 mil Sanchez > Vick as a backup.

    apparently not.

The knock on El Loco Taco was his inability to carry a team, absent a defense and running game.

    Geno is losing with both.

    but hey..

top 10 defense, #2 rushing offense...yep...those BTB AFCCGs were team efforts...fair enough.

    But..now we're cellar dwellars.

Oh, I see. And you have actual, objective (i.e. Not related to your massive hard on for all things Sanchez) reasons for proclaiming that we would be UNDEFEATED with Mark Sanchez right Now? Yeah, right.

If Idzik is thinking this he's wrong to do so. I'm not saying he is but hypothetically.

Big difference between admitting failure with Sanchez who the Jets traded up into the top 5 of the draft to get and admitting failure with Geno who was a second round high value pick. The Jets passed on him twice that draft.

Geno not working out isn't the end of the world for Idzik or the Jets. It was a good gamble that may not payoff.

If Geno is a bust then the worst thing that happened was his great game in Atl last year...
Question is, do they think he can be that every week?

You know, I got really tired of Sanchez and I hate the Sanchez fans, but you are absolutely right. If Sanchez was still on this team, I can almost guarantee you we are 4-0 right now.

We lost three games because of Geno Smith. Red zone turnovers and terrible efficiency in it.

Maybe the coaches feel that with the defense the way that it is now and really having no offensive weapons, they wouldn't be able to win the next few games (even with Vick in). So why not let Geno finish it out. Then when the winnable part of the schedule comes along they'll put Vick in to get those wins.

You put Vick in now and he'll likely get injured and be out by the time it's time to play NE, then Geno has to come right back in. And it isn't like Vick doesn't have problems with turnovers either.

So, your logic is that, because we lost 3 games due to the errors of quarterback A, we absolutely and automatically would have won all 3 games with quarterback B? Really? Also, is your assertion that Geno Smith was the sole reason for all three loses?

Uh yeah. Geno Smith is the second worst quarterback in the league right now lol he has the most turnovers out of any and is tied for most interceptions.

He is among the lowest in completion percentage and among the lowest in tds.

I hate to turn this into a Sanchez vs Geno debate. But i definitely see some inconsistency's in some of the arguments. And that is pretty interesting.

So was Sanchez, always . . . lol.

Geno's ineptitude is not the issue here. He has been bad. But, the assertion that Sanchez would be undefeated with this team is unfounded, to put it mildly. Also, how are you single-handedly blaming Geno for all three losses? In particular, how is he solely to blame for the loss in Green Bay, a game in which the defense blew a 21-3 lead, gave up a 90+ yard drive to close the first half, and gave up 31 points in total?

At this point, I can only conclude that you are a homosexual that is defending Sanchez for your obsession with him.

Hobbes, you haven't posted about anything but Sanchez in at least 2 years.

    You aren't a Jets fan. You're a boy with a crush.

We may not have great weapons but Geno can only control what he can control. That means stop making boneheaded decisions. That's not on the weapons that's on him. We can get by if Geno is efficient with a balanced offense.

This is the key right here. Geno has to sop making game-changing mistakes on poor decisions, first and foremost.

The thing is he's shown the ability in most games this year of being able to make plays and run the offense. But he always has that one or two what the fuck mistake per game. This team is limited so any turnover is huge. I still believe in Geno but these mistakes will be his downfall. He's decent enough in every other aspect of his game.
