He's a washed up bum...... He's turns over the ball s ton and has never lived up to the billing he got when he came into the league...,, why some people want to ride his dick like he's the greatest of all time is beyond me......

If Geno does not produce in the 1st half in San Diego and they dont make a switch the media may explode.

There is a difference between "riding his dick" and wanting to see better QB play than Geno who seems to make the same dumb mistakes week after week while seemingly regressing as a player. Although he did show progress last December against bad teams so who knows if that was real. Thats why teams want to see Vick. Yea he may make turnovers but the turnovers that Smith has are still rookie mistakes. Digz himself said that Geno locks onto his first read and then looks to dump the ball off. Vick wouldnt have made it as long as he did by doing the same. He has talent, that is why people want to see a different QB.

If Geno was making progress but having turnovers in every other game on a 3rd or 4th read people wouldnt be freaking out. Its turnovers like the pick in the endzone against Chicago or on the screen pass that make me long for a veteran to allow Geno to sit and learn.

Stats don't tell the story with that kid. I haven't paid attention to his stats actually but I've watched him closely. Unfortunately doing so has made me more favorable on Geno Smith than I should be because I have been using Manuel as a comparison... that should tell you something.

Manuel will run 4 yards and out of bounds on 3rd and 6.That's the type of player he is. His completion percentage is probably higher than Geno Smith because rather than take a chance on a deeper completion on 3rd and long, he will check down to the RB and take the 3 yard completion and punt all game long. And the inaccuracy!!! His passes are ALWAYS high. He got Marques Goodwin killed last week because SD got so used to the check downs that they started teeing off on the check down WRs. Combine that with Manuel throwing a high, soft duck to the check down guy and wham he's getting them killed.

I agree completely with Junc - Smith is better than Manuel AND Vick is better than Orton.

I dint think peoe realize how bad Orton is, he is a bad back up as it is.

Buffalo is in for a world of hurt, they will be drafting a QB next year.

they can't they don't have a first round pick. This is desperation in Buffalo and Orton isn't the answer but it was probably the right move because manuel sucks

Im sorry for suggesting we send up a Practice squad player for a 3rd QB to play it safe.... Geno and Vick are not the strongest players

We pull Geno out, Vick will suck ass, then what? We can't put Geno back in..... Matt Simms? We can't give up on Geno yet.... Because we'd kill any chance of him being successfull...... Just like the jets killed Sanchez's chance of being successfull...,,,

Give credit to Buffalo for making this change now and not waiting too long , like the jets did with Sanchez, and saying enough...he's not good enough...

Difference: Manuel has been single handedly costing them football games while the rest of the team plays well enough to win.

While you can argue that Geno is costing us games, many other factors are going into it. We've sucked. Every time we score the defense lets the other team respond. When the pass rush doesn't get to the QB we get absolutely torched. Our own pass protection has been terrible which is bad because Geno is atrocious under pressure. Special teams gaffes are hurting us. Way too many penalties. Clock management and decision making sucks. Offensive and to an extent defensive playcalling have been brutal.

Changing quarterbacks can help the Bills, it wouldn't help us. We still have time to correct our fundamental errors because I do believe that we have enough talent to post a decent record, evinced by the fact that we've been competitive with 3 solid teams despite all the mistakes we're making. However, the schedule is brutal and it wouldn't help if the Pats jumped to 3-1 tonight.

How does benching geno kill any chance of him being successful? That's a load of shit. Vick can't stay healthy - fact - geno will clearly get another shot this season and he might have another shot to win the job next season.

I saw Orton do a very good job given the circumstances in that Dallas v. Philly game at the end of last season. He obviously was not in total sync with his receivers, but he's got a good arm, good judgment, was not rattled and does not make stupid rookie mistakes.

Another guy I've liked over the years, Cutler, apparently was just plain awful against the Pack last night. I think I might have to give up on him, despite the Bears getting it done against the Jets last week.

I have junc on ignore and always will.

THe Vick v. Orton comparison imo is really not all that relevant, since this is not some off season choice of pursuing one or the other. They are both under contract. The relevance as you suggest is more about how like Orton being better than Manuel Vick is better than SMith and shoud be put in there.

I will say about Orton v. Vick that Orton is probably more durable than Vick, and is younger. But durability is a stupid reason not to play the better Qb in Vick. He's healthy now and to my knowledge is not suffering from any chronic condition. Play him.

The future? Or they realize Manuel simply isn't that good and are trying to salvage their season instead of constantly looking to next year to come up empty handed. They have a mean defense, a strong running game and need a vet to lead the offense...Sound familiar? Oh wait.....

But no let's not goto Vick bc suddenly he is incapable of making plays and is a turnover machine...BC Geno is a surefire protector of the ball and producer of plays.
