http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...apping-at-fan/?utm_source=fantasyleaguegm.com To cap a day that included “We want Vick!” chants at MetLife Stadium, Jets quarterback Geno Smithapparently got into a verbal altercation with a fan after the game. According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. Smith apologized for snapping at a fan after the game. Smith said he lost his temper. He should lose his temper. But at himself. Smith had two more turnovers on Sunday, pushing his season-to-date total to seven, with five interceptions and two lost fumbles. The questions regarding Smith’s grasp on the starting job undoubtedly will continue, until he gets better — or until he gets benched for Mike Vick. UPDATE 5:04 p.m. ET: According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, CBS 2 has footage of Smith saying “f–k you” to a fan. What a Bum
What did the fan say or does that no matter? We have some terrible, rotten fans. Who can forget this great human being: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...anchez-gets-death-threats-on-twitter/1778555/ "DON'T COME TO PRACTICE WEDNESDAY I PROMISE YOU BULLETS EVERYWHERE..." he tweeted and included Sanchez's Twitter handle in the tweet. He added, "SANCHEZ BETTER HAVE ARMED SECURITY WEDNESDAY AT PRACTICE!! YOU THINK IMMA SIT HERE & WATCH THIS (expletive)?? TUHHH"
I don't care he's a professional and your going to curse out a fan of the team thats paying you. He deserves the bench
It's dumb but among the 50 things Geno does to annoy me that might be #49 on the list. Especially since yeah some of our fans can be jack***ses that deserve it too, like the ones cheering Sanchez getting hurt.
Someone was talking shit to him immediately after a loss. I don't blame him for getting caught up in the moment and snapping back. At least he apologized.
Hes angry and he sweared at someone. Thats a non issue. Im more concerned about his play than his language. Also lets be real the fan probably deserved it.
Who gives a fuck.... if the fan was talking shit which I bet he was then Geno should had cursed him out. You got these fans who think they can say and do what they want to players and they should just take it. I say next time Geno should do a Ray Rice on the fan.
He's a bum because he said something to one of the thousands of fans cussing him out? Okay lol I would've done the same thing.
IDK. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned. But shouldn't he expect a little anger from 70 thousand plus fans after today?
True, there's an unfortunate number of fickle, know-nothing/know-it-all creeps posing as Jet fans but at the same time I'd like to think that they're still in the minority, however 'loud.' And fwiw, to his credit, the first thing out of Geno Smith's mouth in his post-game presser was admitting his screwup by reacting to those douchbags.
It'd be different if he actually took a swipe at the fan or made physical contact but swearing at him is about as meaningful as Rex giving Dolphin fans a two-fingered salute.
