Ive watched all these teams, im not saying its guaranteed but they are certainly winnable games. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Sounds more like that arrow is flat. Not up, not down. This offseason will be the most important in the modern era for the Jets. They have MAJOR decisions to make starting with the HC and his staff.
Amaro has been one of the best picks in the draft this year but, they only play him sporadically, he didn't even show up till the second half.
Wait....wait. "Evans and McDougle got hurt." So you know they will be good without seeing them at the pro level, how? "Pryor and Amaro will be impactful in the future." Please.....again, explain how you know this Nostredumbass? "Our offensive line depth is slowly developing." Mangold and D Brick will be old in a year or two. Are you enamored with Colon and/or Winters? If so, you are very wrong. "Geno may not be the answer.." So....no franchise QB? How the hell are we ticking up?
Another brutal game this season. That's the thing about the Jets, they can't just be blown out, so I could go do something else, nooo, they gotta stick around, have a chance, and then lose... My takeaways: - Geno, Geno... After playing well the first 2 games, the last 2 he has regressed to last season form. Dumb turnovers, missed open throws, bad decisions. Today's loss wasn't all on him, but he was still pretty bad. The interception was on him, he had some pressure on him, but he wasn't hit as he threw, it was just a bad throw. The lost fumble as well, as a QB you gotta sense the pressure and either avoid it or just go down, not attempt to throw with a guy bearing down on you. Decker and Ivory kinda screwed him with drops, but he also missed some real easy throws. He still has to play though, we need to solve our QB situation one way or another, so we need to know where Geno is at by the end of the season. Our team has too many other problems with it, so plugging in Vick won't result in a huge difference, so we gotta think long term here. - Marty: The strange playcalling continues. Ivory is running well, so they replace him with CJ who hasn't shown anything running the ball (even his touchdown run was mostly the defense messing up, not really him). Why did it take them until the 4th quarter to target Amaro regularly? The guy looks really good, is a huge target, can get yards after catch, and can be thrown too very quickly on inside routes. It is incredibly puzzling why they dont feature him more in the offense. I like Kerley and everything, but the guy is small, doesnt have the speed to separate, and is generally hard to target for a QB like Geno, and yet, they keep targeting him and guys like Nelson and not Amaro (or even Cumberland). - Pryor... Wow, he looked like absolute garbage today, same as in the GB game. The first Detroit TD was basically on him as he came up instead of covering that Ross guy from inside. He looked bad on other plays too. What's worse, he just looks completely miscast as a free safety, lacking range, speed and instincts to play in space. When he was drafted, I don't watch college football, and everyone seemed to think he was a really good player, so I wasnt upset at the pick, but at the same time, I wondered if drafting a guy most scouts described as in the box player over a guy like Clinton-Dix or someone who seems a better fit for our needs wasnt a mistake. Still time for him to improve, but it's not looking good right now. - D-Line and pass rush still looking great. We got 4 sacks again, should be enough to keep us at or near the league lead. Great games by Wilkerson and Richardson, 8 tackles apiece and Mo got 1.5 sacks, and Sheldon got 1 and almost managed to rip the ball away from Bush. Mostly stopped the run and applied good pressure. What hurt them is how fast Stafford was getting rid of the ball, but that's what happens when you have a crappy secondary and linebackers who arent that good in coverage. - Secondary overall was bad again, especially considering they didn't have to play against Megatron mostly. They let Tate and Ross embarass them. Walls had some nice plays, but then some really bad ones, and Wilson was Wilson. David Harris has not business covering TEs, but I guess we got no one else who can either, with AA playing corner. Dunno about you guys, but at this point, considering our upcoming schedule and the talent level of the team, I might start rooting against the Jets soon, just so we can get better draft picks. Yeah I know, our draft record sucks, but a chance is better than no chance. And if Geno keeps playing like this, we might need a QB in the draft, something I was hoping we would avoid.
i don't know evans and mcdougle will be good, but how do you know they will be bad? they are important to the future success of this team. pryor and amaro have definitely showed flashes this year and if you don't see that then you're just being a pessimistic jets fan. pryor has had his mistakes, but playing defensive back in the NFL as a rookie is difficult. HaHa clinton-dix doesn't look good, justin gilbert looks awful, jimmie ward looks awful, and deone buccanon hasn't done much. patrick peterson stunk as a rookie. give it time. brick and mangold are getting older, but offensive lineman can play for a long time. dominic raiola was one of the best centers in the NFL last year at age 35. marshal yanda is the best guard in the NFL at 30. jason peters is a premiere tackle at 32. it seems like the development of aboush is going well so we will see
You said the arrow was pointing up, not me. I don't know if Evans or McDougle will be good, but since you said the arrow is pointing up, the onus is on you. Tell me why. Amaro has shown flashes. That's all. Pryor has been bad. Again, nothing to show me the arrow deserves to be pointing up. It's not pessimistic, I'm asking for specific football, game situation reasons why the arrow is pointing up. The best you have given me is a bunch of other players playing poorly. Really?
i've given you reasons, this team is stock piling depth. our 21$ million in cap space will roll over to next year. rookies don't always play that, that's a very valid reason to think this team will perform better in the future. they also won't be facing 4 HoF QBs and 2 pro bowl QBs 6 weeks in a row in the future
No, you absolutely have given me nothing but blind optimism, which is ironic since you said, "pryor and amaro have definitely showed flashes this year and if you don't see that then you're just being a pessimistic jets fan." Where is the depth if our starters our poor? Cap space is nice. Has Idzik shown that he will utilize that cap space? Agreed that rookies don't always play well. In fact, many never pan out. Tell me, schematically, or definitively, how the arrow is pointing up.
