I agree with the terrible decisions part 100% but he didn't fall all the way down like Sanchez used to. Course he only got back up to shoot himself in the foot again. He reminds me of the Knight from that Monty Python sketch.

The pocket is collapsing all too often. On the TD drive, he had a clean pocket for the most part. Geno's on the run too much and while he should still make plays while on the run, I also don't like seeing guys like Nelson on the field when he can't get consistent separation to free himself.

And the false start penalties, led by Breno. I knew he had a knack for the flags and he was good for the 1st 3 games but there's no denying he had a miserable game. Brian Winters is another story, he might be the biggest letdown on the team for me. I thought he would grow to get better in his pass protection but its like nothing's changed. He got thrown down a few times in this game by the Lions and the pocket collapse was led by him for these first 4 games.

Its more than just one player for the offense's failure is my point but Geno has been apart of the problem.

Geno Smith is so far from a franchise QB you couldn't calculate it.

However Idzik has done him no favours whatsoever.
We went into the office with a horde of picks and a boatload of cap space.

And we have this WR crew to show for it?
    With these CBs?
    And this return team?

Seriously, armed with what he had, he had an awful off season.
He didn't even trade up once (with 12 picks!!!!).
I guess he couldn't pass on Taj Boyd who is already out of football.

    false.

mike vick doesn't float balls to safeties on a regular basis. yes he can commit a turnover but at the same time he can also make plays something geno simply cannot do.

At this point I can't disagree. I was dead set against the idea of having Vick play this season if Geno stayed healthy but after today I'm over it.

He leads the league in INTs and just makes stupid decision after stupid decision. Once again we're squandering a top level D by fielding a bottom level QB. I'm so sick of this fucking bullshit.

That's what gets me too, with Sanchez it was wall to wall shit storm. With Geno it's like hey we got something here one minute and a replay of the last 4 seasons the next.

many times geno has had a clean pocket...in fact it was noted last week that the jets had provided the most time to throw than any team in the league....saying he doesn't have a clean pocket enough, is simply an excuse.

    stop defending him.

he sucks and this is on him period end of story.

BakerMaker sounding awfully similar to the Tebow fans who used to pollute this forum. We get it, Geno is ur guy, but he's fucking abysmal.

correct...we have nothing to lose by starting vick....geno sucks, and entering week 5 I simply cannot accept talking top draft pick.

unfortunately for us this coaching staff doesn't have the balls to make a change. and when they do it'll be too late and enough to get us a mid level pick

I was hoping he'd just have a decent game. But he's proven he can lose this team games. Why he is in I have no idea.

I was very much againstVick starting because he just looks small and frail out there. But until I seem him making the turnovers that Geno is making, I can't hate. Geno is making the same turnovers he did last year. We lost the last 3 games because of it, and only won the first because we were facing the raiders. Turnovers is the only stat that matters in this league and I am absolutely convinced of it. Start Vick, there is no harm in it because Geno hasn't proven he has a future in this league.

yes, that's 3 losses in a row for Geno...he's a bust and he simply flat out sucks...but worry not the peabrains around here will say oh look at his support etc, ignoring the eye test of him constant shitty picks that have NOTHING to do with what's around him. we could have calvin Johnson and he'd still hesitate and float the ball to a safety.

we're rebuilding the proper way. that obviously means you keep trotting shitty 2nd round qb out there every week.

And it seems that they let up a lot touchdowns at the end of the first half. It's a pattern that had been building.

Did you watch the game today and see him get out of the pocket and run and try and see if someone can get open? Yeah he makes a bad mistake by backpeddling but there's a reason he's backpeddling to even begin with. Winters got thrown down on a few plays and the pocket got destroyed within seconds. The Geno turnover in Green bay was because Winters got blown off by the snap and the defender got Geno at the right time to alter the throw.

Where did I defend him? All I am saying is please hold the offense accountable for the failure today rather than turn the attention on just Geno Smith. Only shouldering the blame to Sanchez excuses the bad play by other guys on the team and we are repeating the same mistake.

Throwing Vick in isn't going to magically change what we have on offense. Its more than just 1 player, we need another draft(One that actually hits offensively which Idzik did not do this last draft or in 2013 even if its jumping the gun) to really get some actual talent in place on the team.

We're a bad team and I hope people realize that other than thinking Geno Smith single handedly is destroying this team and thinking this is a good, playoff esque football tteam.

    bullshit it does.

I'm not blind to Smiths stuggles, not gonna give up him completely just yet regardless.

He's gotten better from last year in certain ways, but its a lack of confidence, from Smith himself, from Mornhinweg, thats just leading to his ineptitude. theres no cohesion of offensive game plan, this bit of offensive woes goes further than Smith, but its his mistakes that magnify the problem obviously.

That said I was 100 percent against benching him after last week, and I do not regret his starting this week at all regardless of the todays result, but if they want to do that now, I won't blame them. It might be better for his development if anything, and could help the team get a confidence boost overall.

Not giving up on Smith, not yet, he can still be a good QB but this path is unsustainable. time for a Vick Vignette, this is what he was brought here for, its best for all parties.
