The sarcasm is valid. The main point I'm making is that this offense is showing far more success in between the 20's than I've ever seen in the RR era. This offense is showing that they are not what we are accustomed to seeing, which is constant 3 and outs. Those stats show that we can move the ball with success, we can be a good enough offense in this league and be contenders down the road with stats like that as a team. 9th offense, 2nd defense. Usually you see those numbers, that leads to being an elite team in the near future. We'll see. Just because there is a problem, week 3, doesn't mean that it can't be corrected considered the production we are getting outside of that. To call for MM head after three weeks of play, despite the obvious production we are getting thus far, is dumb. If we are still having the unsuccessful RZ issues the whole way and miss the playoffs, we would be having a different conversation.
Yeah, we'll see. I'm hoping like you are that it's a simple matter of fixing a few things to turn the RZ situation on it's head. But given that playcalling has been declining rapidly since game 1, combined with the fact that they keep mixing Vick in and Johnson has been a non factor, I'm not as believing as you are that things will be ironed out eventually.
I actually paid attention to the Bears game and was surprised how often Geno is in Shotgun, even on short plays and running plays. I've never seen a QB so adverse to going under center. I paid attention after reading CJ2K saying how bizarre and different it is to take the handoff from the shotgun, he said he's slowly getting used to it, but starting a running play 7 yards behind the LOS every time was difficult and seemed to be wearing thin on him. If it's true that Geno JUST CAN'T TAKE THE SNAP FROM UNDER CENTER then that's 1) A real problem with our 'future franchise QB', and 2) Must really tie MM's hands when designing and calling plays.
Oh please...2009= Rex best coaching job in history... the jets would have never MADE the playoffs that year if Colts head coach Caldwell hadn't yanked Peyton Manning at halftime of the final regular season game with Colts ahead to save Peyton for the playoffs.
I agree. If a thread was made with concerns to certain issues like you have, it wouldn't bother me as much. When you approach a forum, start a thread, and use the sky is falling mentality as your basis, (in this case it is to fire MM) then that is annoying to me. I'm not saying that this problem will be fixed, It may not. I'm not a complete homer. All I am saying is that there are a lot of positive signs leading me to believe that these are issues that can be corrected. This is a case of us shooting ourselves in the foot, over and over again. It's not because we are not capable, it's because we just haven't got it done yet. The fact that we are having good yardage production throughout a game between the 20's is a very encouraging sign to me, it tells me that we have potential. We are not getting dominated by opposing defenses by any stretch of the imagination, there is potential there for us to be an extremely hard team to beat on both sides of the ball. That is all I can ask for considering the inexperience of our roster as a whole.
Good job? I guess? I mean when people put shit like this I often wonder what people try to accomplish with this, what is the contribution with a statement like this? I mean awesome! You stopped reading because you read "great head coach". Ok, so you don't agree he is a great head coach. Cool, that was your contribution to this thread? That was it? Again. Good job.
settle down chap MM is the best OC the Jets have had in decades remember the days of Tony Sparano and Brian Schottenheimer and reflect on your post
Seriously, I would KILL to have post-surgery Chad to command this offense. So sick and tired of red zone picks and pick 6's. [If I remember correctly, Chad had his first red-zone pick under Schottenheimer's offense. Wouldn't you love that? A QB with HEAD? When was the last time Jets had that?] And Pennington before the surgery? Oh my...
With any kind of offense, we would have beaten Detroit today. In fact, with any kind of offense, we would be 3-1 right now (can't blame GB loss on MM).
