Based on what? A couple pre season games with Philly? The last we saw of Sanchez was the end of 2012 season, which was an absolute comedy.
I think Sanchez had 5 pick sixes in 4 years. I think Geno already has 7 in two years. Those numbers could be wrong. Doesn't matter, Sanchez is long one but we can't continue this trend. _
I agree but couldn't that be because this is only his 2nd NFL season? People think this guy is a season vet. Plus to add he doesn't have much to work with wideouts wise.
Different players. Different circumstances. We'll never know. Personally, I think Sanchez trying to throw this many short passes accurately would have been borderline comical.
Geno makes plays but he's prone to making that one or two boneheaded play. I believe that can be fixed with experience. He's shown improvement so far in this young season. He's going to make mistakes that was expected. Tonight was frustrating and it left you wondering what was he thinking. But despite that he still showed flashes. He needs to make better decisions bottomline.
They're both mistake-prone, but I don't see any real similarities in their games. Geno has a much stronger arm, can improvise, can run... Sanchez couldn't even throw the ball without having it batted down. Sanchez was a terrible, terrible quarterback with a very limited skillset. Geno has the ability. Sanchez never did. Never.
He's in his second year and I'll be patient but my tolerance is shorter this year. I expect mistakes just as long as he doesn't totally implode. Today he made mistakes but he still made plays and that's why I'm not going to totally kill him.
I see a large portion of the fan base is in full-on denial regarding Geno. I guess it's too much for them to take having to recognize we've had the worst starting QB in the league and replaced him with the worst starting QB in the league. If you could all hurry up and move on to stage two (anger), that would be swell.
So, going from being a starting quarterback to being a backup is an improvement? Or, are we strictly talking preseason here? Either way . . . silly post is silly.
Maybe, but he did play in the WCO in college and was apparently good enough in said offense to get drafted 5th overall.
This sums it up for me. Beyond their seemingly equal propensity for huge mistakes (a trait Sanchez maintained throughout his FOUR years as a starting quarterback), their games seem quite dissimilar to me.
Marty blows.. This game reminded me of plenty of the eagles games when he wAs there. Shady led the league in rushing but Marty wouldn't use him when it mattered. Just run a football offense stop with the trickery shit. CJ is being used horribly, ivory isn't being used enough. Marty is calling shitty plays for geno but i gotta admit geno with his stupid decisions are killing us, im starting to wonder if eyes are starting to look at Vick.
different offense. Pete ran a much more traditional, pro-set style WCO. This is a spread offense with Geno in the shotgun on the vast majority of snaps. Also comparing a college offense to an NFL offense is a bit shaky to being with.
