I'd feel comfortable about bashing refs if not for that idiotic pick 6 by Geno where CJ wasn't even in position to catch the ball and also the muff by Saunders there the Jets had stopped Chicago. You can't blame refs when the other team scores on your pathetically stupid turnovers.
Only elite teams play mistake free football and even those teams can't do it for 16 games. We're a very young team; you have to expect penalties and turnovers. The problem is we are just not good enough right now to overcome those.
A pick 6, a fumbled punt, atrocious red zone offense, stupid penalties, a dropped INT, etc. Sure some ref calls were bad, but the Jets lost because the Jets aren't very good. Stop blaming the refs.
And had the bullshit pass interference not been called, the fumble hadn't been blown dead, and the pass interference against Kerley was called, the Jets played well enough to overcome those mistakes.
I don't need to be elite right now. I'd settle for GOOD at this point. We have the ability to be a GOOD team. But nooooooooo....stupid ass penalties like the one on Colon there at the end of the game etc....GOOD teams do not commit dumb ass penalties like that.
You definitely can't blame them for the Jets mistakes (and there were plenty) but tonight's officiating was gawd awful.
Despite the refs we left plays on the field with turnovers and penalties, same shit every week. I'm honestly jaded at this point.
The Jets lost this one. Refs didn't muff a punt or throw two crucial picks. They messed up the fumble call, but the Jets just didn't execute and I don't know if they'll figure it out this year.
Jets create turnovers/plays that get called back by poor officiating and nobody bats an eye The Jets turnover the ball and everybody loses their mind I just don't get how people can just say the Jets had other opportunities and didn't take advantage of them so it doesn't matter that the refs cost us 7 points, the logic is just stupid.
Eh. We got extremely lucky last year in terms of wins in regards to our PF/PA ratio. We also had a ridiculous winning % in close games (the two kind of go hand in hand). This year its time to pay the piper. All these things regress.
But what about snapping the ball for a free five yards when you have a guy three yards across the line?
This game was BS, we got screwed twice, really fucking hard by stupid fucking refs. Maybe THEY SHOULD get fined when THEY MAKE MISTAKES that are impacting points in a game. Fucking pricks
When the fuck is Goodell ever going to hold these asshole officials accountable? This is bullshit. They need to be fired or locked out again
and yet none of that may have mattered if the refs called the game correctly. that's why we lost in conjunction with the shitty refereeing, but we could have played that poorly and still won if we get the TD we clearly scored on D, don't have a BS interference call to set up the 14-0 lead, and get the clear PI at the end, which probably isn't even necessary anyways, regardless of our own mistakes. pointing out our own mistakes doesn't absolve the refs of their clearly shitty performance.
It'd be unjust to pin the Jets woes on the refs w/ all their turnovers & self inflicted wounds. That said..It's just as unjust how many bad breaks this team seems to get from the zebras. I understand people don't wanna make excuses..but jesus christ..every single week we're on the losing end of backbreaking bad calls. We have a right to gripe.
This thread is full of idiots. They want to sit around and point out all the times the Jets screwed up, but when they finally do something good and it gets wrongfully nullified they want to kick it under the carpet and mask with talks about all the screw ups. And you said it right, the muffed punt, the pick 6, the red zone pick, all doesn't matter if we get the TD we deserved.
