And you're why the entire country has a strong distaste for Jets fans. This is a mans life and well being in jeopardy, and you're happy about that because of a game. Grow up.
I was pissed about Abe's "flu" ordeal in the playoffs, and didn't really buy into him as an elite pass rusher with the Jets, but people trashing him for that stuff years ago in a thread like this need to drown in a toilet filled with my fucking diarrhea. Stupid assholes.
Cases like this make me wonder where the game is heading. There are going to have to be some kind of drastic changes in the relatively near future with all of this kind of stuff happening. I love the game, but I wonder, would I ever let my hypothetical kids play football? I'm not sure I would. These kind of reports make me really torn.
My heart goes out to him, i feel terrible. Jets are hated because every periodical in sports dislikes the Jets for some unknown reason. But, your Pats are put on a pedestal despite having cheated for 3 super bowl victories, cheating on wives, murdering people, and raping young woman in clubs; have respect for Myra ha ha get the fuck out of here. Your whole "dynasty" is a sham led by the biggest sham artist of them all. Jets fans are as classy, or classier than Pats fans.
This is kinda where I was hoping this thread would go..not John Abraham bashing lol. Im all for making the game safer. But how much safer could it really be made without further hurting the product? These guys arent forced to do this. The same way people arent forced to do other dangerous jobs. And unlike other dangerous jobs , these guys are being paid a fortune.
Dude, shut up already. Jets fans have never been depicted as classy, but that's not the point. When a fan uses the Abraham playoffs situation as a reason to shit on them when they are suffering serious health issues, it paints the fan base in a negative light. Get over your personal feelings about one playoff game and be a fucking human being for a minute.
Same with you, dickweed. You are always the first person to trash the Jets fan base as being the worst in the league. Smart post!
It was two playoff games. I could care less, it was over a decade ago (and the Jets played great despite his absence). I'm sure Johns head is going to be just fine. He should have plenty of dough saved up to get the right kind of help.
This is the truth, I think the game can only be made so safe, though I'd like to see more money go into player safety and research. The distribution of wealth in the NFL (and elsewhere) is all fucked up. I am hoping somehow this whole STUPID Ray Rice incident, which is really the least of all worries when you compare it to things like this, will expose the NFL for what they really are. There needs to be more power to the players and less to the sniveling corporate fucks who are involved SOLEY because of how much profit is to made. More power needs to go the players and those earnestly trying to make football a better game.
It was definitely San Diego. And I think steelers but I can't remember either...? Water under the bridge. I hope he recovers and enjoys many years of unforgettable retirement
Interesting bits of information about John Abraham in this article--at least to me. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6613777/2025/09/25/john-abraham-nfl-falcons-jets-cardinals/
