I can see Pryor coming in on a blitz and knocking Derek out.

    Trainer: "What's your name?"
    Derek: "Ahhhh....ummm....David?"

I am looking forward to see the much discussed cornerbacks. I'm high on Walls and actually think Allen is the best cover guy on the team so hope to be proven right. If they can instill confidence, also buys us time to bring Millner back slowly so we don't face reinjury risk (ideally he should have 6 weeks of rehab so week 4 I think).

Outside of CBs, expect running game to deliver, Geno to pick apart the aged Oakland secondary and our offensive line to neutralize Mack.

Also, not sure if this has been mentioned but why haven't we found a new punter?

The real deal is games against teams that are actually good.

I'm so excited the season's finally here....

The next bunch of weeks are going to be really tough, we really need to start off with a win. Thank god we're playing at home. We never do well against the Raiders in Oakland.

We should win this one. Hopefully Rex will have the rookie off his game.

Call me crazy, but I have confidence in Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls too. Can't wait for tomorrow! Again, I will say 31-13 J-E-T-S.

This board will implode if we lose tomorrow, with that said; no way we lose this.

We put up 37 on them last season ... I think the Raiders defense improved, but 30 points is not out of the question - especially when facing a rookie QB.

The board might implode if it is a close win even.
That and the Jets offense has gotten better too. No reason the Jets can't score 31.

My worst nightmare is the Jets up like 4 or 2 and the Raiders have the ball with 2 minutes left.

Absolutely. If we lose tomorrow it isn't going to be pretty unless we somehow beat the Packers in week 2 which I don't think is impossible. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I think many fans are on the fence right now. (Including Myself) We could see the Jets coming out and DOMINATING the Raiders and going on to have a great season. We could also see them be dominated and have a terrible season. Tomorrow I think the Jets give us more option A than option B.

I now change this to a must win since GB lost the other night they'll be hungry and will go all out to avoid 0-2. We need to win tomorrow.

jets will probably win this one at home. the raiders tend to struggle in the east coast, and the jets front is going to give us fits. the raiders are a team that wants to run the ball a ton, but if you try to stay hardheaded against the jets you'll be facing 3rd and 7 all game...

that being said, if oakland were to win the game, here are the keys:

Offense: Do whatever it takes to neutralize the jets aggressiveness in their front 7. If they're going to continue to send 5, 6, 7 guys, the raiders will need to use heavy doses of draws and screens to McFadden and Jones-Drew. Additionally, passing plays designed to get rid of the ball very quickly should be used. In Fresno State, they ran a LOT of wide receiver screens (instead of running the ball, as they had a terrible offensive line). That sort of strategy could help go after an inexperienced secondary while negating the effects of a pass rush. If the Jets pass rush can slow down even a bit, it will give us a chance to go at their weak spot, the secondary.

Defense: The Raiders defensive strength is the ability to get after the passer. Tuck and Woodley are both 10+ sack guys, and of course Khalil Mack will be lining up in a bunch of different spots. He's not a guy that just rushes the passer, he plays the run and also drops into coverage. But he'll get his chances on 2nd and long or third down situations. The key is to get us in those situations. Our pass rush is pointless if the Jets are able to run the ball effectively and get into 3rd and short situations, where Geno can fire off quick passes. I think we need to play a contain-oriented game, rather than super aggressive. Keep their receivers in front of you, don't let CJ1K break to the outside. Force Geno to beat you with long methodical drives, rather than big plays/quick hits. With the elite QB's you expect to get shredded that way and might play a boom-or-bust approach on defense. While Geno should be better (and played well against us last year), our best bet is to make him beat us over and over again.

With a rookie QB with the Raiders. As really being at home. Could help out the Jets.

    Prediction is 21-14 Jets!

There was the 2009 Mark "Sabrett" Sanchez game in Oakland: Jets 38, Oakland - 0.

I think it's going to be a tough game like those unexplainable Bills games we endure every year.

Anyway, Carr being a rookie means they'll run behind their Hugh o-line with pretty good success. Carr will hit screens and short slants to slow our aggressiveness up front. McFadden has killed us in the past and now they've added the nightmare midget drew-jones. I think we'll see pryor in the box for this reason, leaving AA and Walls to put up or shut up.

Demario Davis could be the difference in this game just based on where the Raiders will try and play it.

    Jets 23-17 in OT

So here's my final prediction for this game.

1st Half - Jet's offense rips the Raiders defense a new asshole. The Raiders will stack the box early and Geno will pick apart the secondary like it is nothing. Jets force the Raiders into a bunch of 3 and outs and Carr looks horrible. At the end of the 1st half though Carr and the Raiders find a way to put some points on the board. Halftime Score 21-7 Jets.

2nd Half - Jets become too conservative on offense and we stall throughout the 3rd quarter. In the 4th Geno starts to air it out again and the Jets get some points. Carr settles in, in the 2nd half and gives the Jets some problems but the Jets are atleast able to force some field goals.

    Final Score - Jets 31 - Raiders 20.
