BTW, this is apparently wrong. Decker as it turns out was one of the most efficient deep ball WR's in the league last year. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/08/22/6-wr-observations-based-on-deep-targets/ attribute that to a more than capable QB as you may, he was STILL able to hold his end of the bargin more than most in the league did.
Welp about 2 pages ago, this topic changed to, "Why Soxx doesn't like Decker" Nothing legitimate just hate.
It was a legal hit and that was Deckers fault because he didnt wear padding. He walked off the field, he was supposed to play against New England but when it came game time was apparently not ready. I am not going to question his injury but when all week they are saying he is fine and going to play, and then he doesnt? and then watch him quit in the Super Bowl, it makes me wonder what happened in New England.
haha. Like it matters with all of this cap space. But I disagree with the fact that no one wanted him.
The receiver market was nothing special, and historically free agent receivers tend not to live up to there signing.
I love how soxxx slyly glossed over the posts that made him look stupid after saying Nicks never quit.
What post did I gloss over, I am replying to multiple posts all at the same time, quote what I skipped and ill reply.
But don't you get it? He was irresponsible, lazy, and quitted when it came to putting on knee pads...He should have known that James Harrison was going to sprain his MCL. Unacceptable.
So 1 injury from James Harrison eliminates all of the conditioning, lingering issues Hakeem Nicks has had over the past 2 or 3 seasons? OK.
Because we could have waited. The reciever market was pretty humdrum, the Jets were the only team seriously pursuing Decker. We could have waited and got him for less. The same way no one signed Sanders or Nicks, no one was signing Decker outside the Jets. Its irrelevant now obviously.
Man they must make knee pads a lot differently in his world. I've never seen a knee pad the stopped unnatural motion in knees, only ones that protect against impact. I'm guessing that if Decker had been wearing a hinged knee brace, he may have been okay. But you'll never see a WR wearing a knee brace.
The multiple articles posted about how Nicks was lazy and didn't work out in the offseason and skipped team meetings?
Soxxx are you saying that we should have never made an offer, or that we should have offered him vet minimum, or simply less than what he got? I'm not sure where you stand exactly. Either way, if we tried to lowball we run the risk of losing him to another team, which honestly, we could not afford to do. We NEEDED a solid WR. Hicks is not a solid WR, he has attitude/motivation issues. In my mind, it was worth it to pay a little extra to make absolutely sure that we locked him up. We would be in a bad situation without him, regardless of whether he is a 1 or 2 receiver or what that blowhard Schlereth has to say.
Also, nobody is mentioning the plethora of free agent WR's that will be on the market next year. Decker's value will go up greatly if we are able to nab a true #1 reciever to compliment him.
You're deflecting. You said something stupid, you were wrong, and now you're deflecting. It's common... it's just annoying.
