I haven't seen Decker play that much - but I read constantly that he is very reliable as far as being where he is supposed to be running routes.

That is exactly what Geno needs.

Of course I'd prefer to have a game breaking number 1 - but it wasn't in cards for us this off-season.

Well I felt we should have signed Nicks, a proven #1 guy, a guy who completely wrecked the NFL at one point, Decker never broke games the way Nicks did....

Because how many people use "#1 receiver" as the #1 receiver on a depth chart? Everyone uses it to describe elite WRs. There are 32 #1 receivers if we are taking it literally, but the way it is being used here and in a lot other media outlets is used to describe a receiver who can consistently take on double teams and still be a viable target in the offense.

look, I'm just as disappointed as you, but I'm sure Idzik had a reason for cutting Clyde "The Glide" Gates. er... wait who are you talking about?

Hopefully, because if I am right, then this offense will be nothing special this season.

Nicks is a proven #1 guy? He wasn't even #1 on his own team since Cruz arrived.
How the hell does Nicks fit in your own definition of no 1?

He is this team's #1 WR and he can NOT "consistently take on double teams and still be a viable target in the offense." I think we are all can agree on those 2 points???

Not sure Decker needs to be doubled but if a team wanted to add that to their game plan against the Jets, I guess Decker would be the guy.

Holmes never turned a 2 yard play into a 45 yard td. He bitched and moaned his way off the team.

Decker is one of the best red zone targets in the game. Now that's big play ability.
