10-6 Vs Raiders win At Packers loss Vs Bears win Vs Lions win At Chargers win Vs Broncos win (Lock this shit up, we are beating the Broncos) At Patriots loss Vs Bills win At Chiefs loss Vs Steelers win Bye week At Bills loss Vs Dolphins win At Vikings loss At Titans win Vs Patriots win At Dolphins loss
So many factors can affect this, but barring any more major injuries, and if Geno, Davis, Allen, Winters and others continue to improve, cutting down on turnovers, and the rookies play well, the team's record could be around 9-7 or even 10-6 or 11-5 if things go better than expected. If not, the record could be as bad as 6-10 or 5-11. I'm thinking it will probably be closer to the former than the latter.
More receiving targets.....Check Add a Top 10 RB.....Check QB in year 2....Check Bring in a stud safety....Check Upgrade over Cromartie at Corner....Not so much. LOST SEASON EVERYONE LOST SEASON. WE DON'T HAVE A TOP 10 CB CORE SO IT'S A LOST SEASON. 11-5. This team went 8-8 last year with the worst turnover differential in the league (-14). If that number was even just -4 last year this team wins 10 or 11 games. Geno will have less turnovers no doubt in my mind. Hopefully our Defense can create some more then they did last year. Our Secondary overall is actually better this year then it was last year with the addition of Pryor. Everyone seems to forget that our secondary was trash last year too and we still almost made the playoffs.
I'd consider 8-8 a decent season. This will change after we actually see the team play so we won't have to guess based on press clippings, last years stats and a lot of wishful thinking. I'm still wondering where this offense really is. Looks pretty good on the ground, mediocre in the air. The defense looks good against the run, sucks against the pass. Amazing that the pass is the weakest point on both sides of the ball. By week 9 or so we'll know what we have. Until then, feel free to hate the media if that makes you feel better but its the play on the field that will write the true story.
wow there are a lot of 8-8's in here...... i thought with just about everyone brushing aside the apparent CB crisis i would be seeing many more 10-6/11-5's..LOL. i agree that last year we were a 6 win team on paper that got a few breaks which likely wont be repeated this year. overall we have improved at several positions (RB, TE, QB due to experience, WR) and have not improved at only 1 position - CB. So, we are likely an 8 win team on paper that can swing 2 games either way. like i wrote earlier, i think the swing will be downward into the 6 win area.
I see a team capable of winning 10 games. I don't fear New England at all. That offense is no longer what it use to be. They're obviously better on D but I don't think their dominant on either side of the ball. We can contend for the division if we get thru that tough early stretch of games ok.
12-4 edit: After Goodell determines that the forward pass is the cause of concussions and bans throwing the ball. Ground and pound will rule the football landscape.
I think 9-7 is a realistic "good" outcome and that Rex ought to stay if it happens regardless of which way the playoff tie brekers go. Like many others here I'm very worried about the "murderers' row " of QBs we face starting in Week Two. Things could get ugly for us really fast this year if we have some bad breaks and our CBs don't play decently. But, fingers crossed, I'm sticking with 9-7
9-7 Vs Raiders loss At Packers win Vs Bears win Vs Lions win At Chargers win Vs Broncos win At Patriots win Vs Bills loss At Chiefs win Vs Steelers win Bye week At Bills loss Vs Dolphins loss At Vikings loss At Titans loss Vs Patriots win At Dolphins loss Due to the fact the Jets never make ANY sense, I have them winning every game they are projected to lose, and them losing every game they should win. Sounds about right.
