What? Jim Irsay is a great owner. He likes to party, so what? He got Manning and Luck, and he has a playoff team year in and out. How can you put him with this list?
I thought you were talking about Jerry Jones. If you're talking about Jimmy Johnson, well that's a horse of a different color. Jerry Jones won Super Bowls with the talent base that Jimmy Johnson put together. As soon as Jimmy Johnson went Cowboys fortunes went south although they did get one last big year out of Jimmy Johnson's players in '95 even though he was no longer coaching the team.
I think my theoretical trade would be worth it for the reason that we get Kyle Wilson off the roster. Idzik seems to have no problem with signing/drafting injured corners...
I don't see how getting the first overall pick in 2 years where obvious QB choices were available makes him a good owner. I like Irsay and I dont care about his personal life but your reasoning makes no sense there.
I'd theoretically trade Kyle Wilson for a full tank of gas and a pack of smokes. I think the McDougle pick was a risk/reward stretch pick. Bit us on the ass a little but it's an upper body injury so you can't really blame anyone for it, that's just football. So yeah, I guess I'd rather keep a healthy, garbage player instead of trade for an already injured mediocre player?
You're assuming that the Cowboys would want a corner drafted in the first round that is repeatedly targeted by opposing quarterbacks though. This trade doesn't make sense to me unless there is a lot more in it for the Cowboys.
We had a chance at Peyton and blew it. We also drafted Sanchez and Gholston with top 10 picks, so yeah it is real easy.
There was no chance at Peyton. His camp announced shortly after he became FA that he wasn't interested in the Jets.
My God, this board is getting to be unbearable. What has happened to this place??? Every thread reads like English as a second language, elementary school arguments, and remedial football. I'm going to have to place 1/2 the board on ignore just to avoid going nuts. This thread was about Claiborne and of 49 posts, about three of them talk about the thread topic.
This post isnt exactly a contribution either. The truth is most dont want Claiborne because of his injury history as well. That and the fact he has stunk. Theres not too much to say on a hypothetical trade thread that has pretty much no chance of becoming reality.
No..after reading this. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...rris-claiborne-needs-painkilling-shot-to-play
