I hate how he carries the ball with one hand each time he scrambles.

He had HUGE hands and it's pretty much what Wilson does. He'll figure that out, he's a smart football player.

Did you see his escapability on that one play where he was almost nailed 3 times but got away to complete the pass?

That's what he's going to do.

I think Wilson does this better. Wilson’s more aware of the defenders’ whereabouts and avoids them. Manziel what I've seen so far is all gun-ho about it, which leads to more hits.

I think Manziel becomes a starter, I don't think he ever becomes a top 10 QB tho

Yes Wilson is clearly better at it, probably the best in the game.

Whether he becomes top 10 we'll see, he's going to be an exciting player to watch.

Let's not forget, he's only TWENTY ONE and only played 2 years in college and never in a huddle in his life. He's still not even close to being physically mature. Wilson was 2 years older and more physically mature and had played 4 years in college when he got to the NFL.

I think Manziel's going to be a unique one.

I have a feeling that Johnny's play on the field well be as polarizing as his behavior off of it, and not always for good reasons. He's a freelancer in a league where dynamic passing offenses are prominent. He'll have a great number of highlights but he'll also have many times where you're scratching your head wondering what the hell he was thinking. And he's in Cleveland. Not exactly the mecca of football legend, aside from Jim Brown.

Yeah, he'll be unique, but not great, IMO.

That's always assuming that he doesn't get destroyed bodily in his first few seasons.

Completely fair. He's still such a wild card really no idea where he'll end up.

His scrambling is good but he overdoes it sometimes. There was one play in particular last night where he had a receiver wide open to the left. Instead of sliding left in the pocket, planting and throwing, he did a zoolander 360 spin and fired the pass across his body while running. Pass was way off and result was incompletion.

Russel Wilson can dissect a defense with his passing. He's a very good QB. Manziel can't do that yet, nowhere near it, he is run first all the way right now.

    Kenny Hill > Johnny Manziel.

One thing, if Rex Ryan does not work out in a few yrs - I would love to get a Kevin Sumlin / Kenny Hill package. Sumlin has an amazing offense. Could be the next Chip Kelly.

    So let's sum up

Jimmy G and Bridgewater have looked pretty good overall

Tom Savage has had less action but looks good

    Fales looks decent

Manziel looks bad but he can make some stuff happen with his legs

    Bortles looks pretty bad

    I miss anything?

I think Sumlin will end up in the NFL sooner than later, hell it wouldnt shock me if the Browns pursued him next offseason. Its not like Petine was really there top choice, they just kind of had no one to pick from because guys like David Shaw and Adam Gase had no interest.

Bortles looked bad? What in the hell?

Was I watching the same guy? Is there another QB with the name Bortles on his back?

Bortles finished with a 60% completion percentage, 2 tds, 0 INT, and a 100+ rating.

A lot of it was against the number ones also.

Bortles does look decent, but he'll probably look a lot worse than he is when he starts just because... Jaguars.

Not to say he didn't have a few issues, but he was playing with 2nd dtring talent
Yep, and their #1 offense. Eli and company did zilch against the mostly fighting for a roster spot players on the Pats defense.

Garoppolo did pretty decent overall. He had some definite rookie moments, but did pretty good running the Pats 2nd and 3rd stringers for the most part. He needs to clean up his footwork, but he did a great job avoiding pressure and giving himself time to throw, and he throws a beautiful pass. The ones to Dobson and White especially...

Fuck, man, I'm going to go batshit if Garoppolo turns out to be a great player.
