I hope so, would hate to see Andrew get a cakewalk in the division for another decade like Manning and Brady got.

It does look like the Bear are rolling with Palmer over Fales, I did hear Palmer has brought a lot of leadership and help to Cutler and Clausen so I guess that could explain it.

    Johnny Manziel (Cleveland)
    24/42 (57.1%) 213 yds 1 TD 0 INT (78.7 Passer Rating)

    Teddy Bridgewater (Minnesota)
    26/40 (65.0%) 266 yds 4 TD 0 INT (117.2 Passer Rating)

Edit: If I'm missing any that have already had their 3 games please let me know. I know I'll need to update Arizona's later today but I don't remember all the rookie QB's.

    Garoppollo? Bortles?

Might as well add Carr and Thomas too if you don't mind.

JG, Bortles, and Carr are all in the previous post, I quoted it.

I'll go add up Thomas' numbers quick too since he's had a chance to play now.

    Edit:
To make it easier here is everyone in one post:

    Jimmy Garoppolo (New England)
    24/37 (64.8%) 334 yds 4 TD 0 INT (129.7 Passer Rating)

    Blake Bortles (Jacksonville)
    28/45 (62.2%) 435 yds 1 TD 0 INT (101.6 Passer Rating)

Carr has only played 2 games, however since the Raiders have already played:

    Dereck Carr (Oakland)
    19/32 (59.3%) 183 yds 1 TD 1 INT (72.7 Passer Rating)

    Zach Mettenberger (Tennessee)
    35/51 (68.6%) 504 yds 2 TD 2 INT (87.1 Passer Rating)

    Johnny Manziel (Cleveland)
    24/42 (57.1%) 213 yds 1 TD 0 INT (78.7 Passer Rating)

    Teddy Bridgewater (Minnesota)
    26/40 (65.0%) 266 yds 4 TD 0 INT (117.2 Passer Rating)

    Tom Savage (Houston)
    11/14 (78.5%) 90 yds 1 TD 0 INT (117.2 Passer Rating)

Logan Thomas, like Carr is also only two games, not sure why he missed the second game.

    Logan Thomas (Arizona)
    13/18 (72.2%) 134 yds 1 TD 0 INT (111.8 Passer Rating)

That's the full list of all of the rookie QB's I can recall off the top of my head.

    Thanks.

Yeah the only other 2 guys of note are Fales and Aaron Murray but both have only played in 1 game.

    Fales (Chicago) 5/7 (71.4%) 68 yds 0 TDs 1 INT (62.5% Passer Rating)

    Aaron Murray (KC) 5/10 (50%) 81 yds 1 TD 1 INT

AJ McCarron (Cinn) has not played yet.

Manziel is showing that his escapability may indeed translate to the NFL and that he has an NFL arm. Once he learns to command a huddle and get that defense down, he'll be a player in this league.

Hate him all you want, the dude is an NFL QB.

I don't think you can label him an "NFL qb" with the way he's played this preseason.

Can he be in the future? Sure. But now? Definitely not

Why not? He's raw, he's NEVER been in a huddle in his college career, his detractors said his game would not translate, he doesn't have an arm and he'll get killed.

I've watched every snap of his this preseason and while he's no where near ready, everything negative they've said about his transition to the pros has been wrong.

Manziel IS an NFL QB. He'll be starting by mid season.

Here is the deal with Manziel imo, run first QBs have not really made it in the NFL. Manziel has the arm and the ability to make the passes Joe Flacco makes, but he also has the ability to balance it with a run ability that exceeds someone like Russell Wilson. I am not to concerned about Manziel long term because if he does resort to running, that can be fixed. He has the ability to pass, and make all the throws. With the right coaching he should be able to obtain some sort of success, maybe not immediately, but eventually yes.

I don't think he is. I think he has the talent to be an NFL qb, but to label him one right now is just false, in my opinion.

In order to be an NFL quarterback, you have to know how to manage the game, make the right throws, make quick decisions, and know how to read the defense. So far Manziel has struggled in his decision making, has made very poor throws, has not figured out when to use his feet and when not to yet, and has had a lot of trouble reading defenses. It's hard to put much stock into his performance tonight playing against the backups. When playing against starters, he struggled big time.

To me, he's not an NFL qb yet. He's got a lot of work to do to get there. He will be, I believe, but it's not right now.

So cut him until he becomes an NFL QB. Right?

He's better than 15 NFL backups and maybe a few starters.

Folks were suggesting he'd crash and burn by now and he's 8 weeks from being a starter.

The guy is an NFL QB.

Btw, the guy you are describing in the bolded part was the starting NFL QB for OUR team last year.

He can run very well but he looked bad this preseason throwing the ball. You know it's bad when Rex Grossman steps into the game off the street and shits all over you.

No. Let him learn from the bench to help develop him into an NFL qb.

I think you are confusing an NFL qb with a guy starting in the NFL. Geno Smith was not an NFL qb last year. At the end of the season he began to play like one, but for the entire year he was not.

Manziel is not an NFL qb right now. His game shows that.
