This thread reeks of vintage circle jerk.

Come on, edge. You really don't have any concerns? I've been trying to be objective since the draft, and I don't really care about the DRC thing, but doesn't it bother you that most of our draft is basically a byline this offseason? I'm actually having to look up the roster to remember who most of them are. 12 draft picks is a nice thing if you draft wisely. I'm not sure we did that.

You gotta watch it play out, but this recent draft is starting to look very shaky.

Couldn't agree more. Also makes me question our decision not to spend any money on undrafted free agents.

One of the benefits of building quality depth on a football team is that you can take the long view when it comes to the draft. When Tannenbaum was around, every failed draft pick, even the late ones, were a disaster. Now while the Jets have a very clear and discernible concern at CB, the Jets seemingly have the best depth that this team has enjoyed since Rex Ryan has become the head coach of the Jets. They don't NEED the rookies to be impact players right now. This draft can't be judged for at least four years.

Remember, Aboushi looked like Wayne Hunter quality garbage last season. Now he's competitive for a starting position. It's very easy in NY to get caught up in the here and now today, but those are not the things that will ultimately make John Idzik a quality GM.

    EDIT: Depth, not draft.

I am concerned about taxes. I pay way too much considering what I make. I'm concerned about keeping my job. I'm concerned keeping the wife happy. I'm concerned with finding some of my own. I'm concerned with weight... both my own, though greatly improved, and that of the implications of what is happening around us in the world everywhere. I'm concerned for the future... our future... your future, Abyzmul.

The draft will be just swell, despite whatever this bunch may praddle on about. The stock of posters who gravitate to these threads have received more golden showers from Rex Ryan and his tattoo than some of the porn stars on our sisters site (bigblockersoldiesandenemas.com).

The Jets are good this year. New York is going to have wake up and taste that coffee, and eat it, and love it, and savor it. This is the new normal in this town.

Finally, the DRC signing was a risk. Whatever cap money is left over gets pushed into next year's salary cap. Next year perhaps a free agent is available that is higher reward and lower risk than DRC would have been. Take the long view.

Does is really matter. Rex has been more impressive. Idzik has not really shown anything....since he's been here. This years draft has been very un-impressive, coupled with his free agent acquisitions & non-acquisitions. He didn't improve key weak areas...CB, WR & OLB/Speed Rusher; OL still is shaky also when u also examine depth of OL. Idzik had 12 picks. Didn't trade any of them??? He also let the Bills draft OL Henderson from Univ. of Miami in the 7th round, when he had three 6th rounds picks. Henderson is a "BEAST"...
Personally,,,,Idzik needs to add a Player Talent personnel person to assist him, because with all the picks & Cap room they had....they didn't get it done.

I can't really see Jets doing better than there 8-8 record like last season....it might be worse. Jets need a #1 & #2 WR to couple with the WR's they have now. For sure...they need a #1.

Rex counts double. So technically Idzik has already had the 2 best coaches in the business
