Yeah, like your blood pressure's not high enough being a Jets fan you need to put salt on your Taylor ham.
It's really the eggs that need the salt. Drink enough wine and the blood pressure stays in check. That's my story. _
That's very thoughtful and analytical of you. Good thing I don't need you to read my analysis to go on with my day or else I'd be in trouble. Instead of a half witted response that makes you seem like a moron, how about dive into the football discussion?
IMO, it will only make them better. Geno needs to get better against better defenses, he's shown he can play well against weak ones, but to become a playoff contender you have to be able to beat good defenses and we only beat one last year. I think it's good to face them in training camp, especially since MM's system has already been in place for a year and players should pretty much have the hang of it now. Once the season starts they will mostly be playing against the practice squad. It's also good practice for the young corners so we can see what they're made of and evaluate who will end up making the roster. I don't agree. I think the D line is top notch and most of their linebackers are really good. I think that the pass rush makes those corners look a lot better than they are. Don't get me wrong, they are decent, but not the heart & soul of the D for Seattle, IMO.
I'm from Northern NJ, and every place around here calls it Taylor ham on the menu, but in stores its called Pork Roll. I've never heard it called "tower." Usually it's cooked, but it can be eaten cold as it's pre cooked. I prefer to fry it lightly in a pan before I put the eggs in.
Seriously,.. Can we move the OT food conversation elsewhere. There's enough to sort through in this thread without all the BS.
Beer and completely unhealthy man food is as much a part of the Jets experience as discussing tweets from TC.
Sorry for spreading misinformation. THE&C is called a Tower at Abby's Diner, which is in Wyckoff, which is where I grew up. It hadn't occurred to me that they and they only named it that, because many people in town (Wyckoff) and the surrounding areas (Franklin Lakes, Oakland) refer to it as that. My apologies for the misrepresentation of the sandwich's name.
J-E-T-S. Let's stay healthy this camp! With that being said.......... Don't know anyone who eats Pork Roll cold but I wouldn't break your stones for doing it. Twould be a bit odd though. Somewhere along an imaginary Mason-Dixon_like line, apparently Northern Jersey (most in my experience) folk refer to our salty cardiac snack as Taylor Ham (per the Company Name) and Central & South Jersey refer to it by the name on the box itself "Pork Roll". Same product. Don't know what they call it in Philly. Outside of state, i've seen it called both when available. And for the love of Samhain, it's not Canadian bacon/ham or Spam. The only other Pork Roll I've tried was at Kelly's Tavern (Neptune). They had "Trenton" Pork Roll (thick cut) [Taylor rival?], same delicious shit. And as some stated, I've moved on from American cheese (bland) and prefer Cheddar or Swiss w/ fried egg over easy (runny yolk) +salt, pep, ketch & tabasco. Bread of choice, whatever's available; kaiser, bagel, english, rye, just gimme!!! Did i mention i like the New York Jets?
At some point, I considered starting a pizza blog, based on trying it at different places in the northern NJ area. I never pursued it. I like thin-crust, crispy. There's a deli in Ridgewood, called The Best of Everything, that sells small pies. They're like paper-thin -- so thin, that the optimal way to heat them is with a little olive oil in a frying pan. Yum.
If anyone is interested, there's a couple videos up on Jets website. Chris Johnson with an awesome catch for a TD. Demarco Davis pick six. Decker with a one handed catch in coverage. Salas with an awesome TD snag in heavy coverage.
