Well that's news to me. Someone posted on his instagram picture he posted and asked why CP3? His response was CP for Calvin Pryor and 3 for the third most loved item in my life, football. 1 being God. 2 being family. 3 being football.
Anyone else starting to get a little worried about these string of bad days amaro is putting together? I know it's early but jeez, guess I just had really high hopes for him early on
You mean the string that started with him getting injured 2 days ago and ended with him having a drop day? or are you talking about some of the other days where he dropped a pass here or there?
Yes.. i am very worried. I think our offense is really depending on a lift at the receiving end and either Hill or Amaro was the two i picked that was capable of doing it IF they can put together a solid year, but they both CANT CATCH. Im pissed about that. Good thing Nelson is dependable, nothing special, but dependable when he's given a chance to make a play.
The problem with most people making excuses for Stephen Hill is that they are failing to use the EYE TEST. Make excuses about injury as you will, about him being young and such, but watch the guy out on the field. He simply does not look like an NFL wide receiver when he's in the game. The biggest problem with Hill is his blatant uncoordinated movements when he's running around. He doesn't track the ball well and seems discombobulated most of the time when it's in the air. For a guy that most claim is going to be relied on to take the top off of a defense, tracking the ball and going and getting it is the most important thing. I'd leave Stephen Hill in single coverage all game long because I'd trust a 5'8" corner to go up and make a play on it more than I would with Hill. Read into what MM has said all you want about route running and I hope it's true. The thing is with speedsters is that when they don't do anything else well, especially creating space in and out of cuts, you'd think you can at least rely on them to run some go routes and create separation. Repeat his 40 time again over and over to yourselves but it doesn't translate to the field. Another problem with having him run these go routes is that he gets bullied at the line by literally any corner on him, so he can't create separation down field because the plays over before he has a chance to turn the burners on. Remember Matt Jones? 6'6" quarterback turned wide receiver for the Jaguars that ran a 4.3? One would think this guy would've at least been good for some bombs, but combine speed and actual speed are two different things. I hope he pans out, and I honestly do think he'll make the roster this year as a last ditch effort to hope he brings some value, but up until this point I can't understand the constant love fest by some people for him. Everyone wants him to be Calvin Johnson, but for christ's sake can we just get Jacoby Jones out of him?
No, it was directed at the Kurt and Aljitator's of the world that are. I don't post much, but I do read this forum quite often.
Agreed, like I said earlier in this thread, he's got great straight line speed but lacking football speed, and he isn't all that instinctive despite his ideal physical traits. he can work if he's focused enough on everything about his game but its- sigh… an up-Hill battle.
that is so sad but true.. He has the size speed and atheletism to be dynamic.. but he just.... idk..sucks
See THIS is the type of shit that irks me. This guy posts 7 tweets referring to the same 2 plays and calls Idzik & Rex stupid because a 2nd round draft pick is struggling in training camp. Does pointing this out make me a complete homer? According to several folks on here it would and I should just keep my mouth shut. If I'm a bad fan, WTF is this guy?
I think most people realize the post you quoted is a really really bad post by someone struggling to find ways to justify their opinion.
You know what's funny? The beat fags were trolling moron fans purposely, because two of them actually used the same language to describe the same play. Stop being a mark.
This isn't really Jets-relate per say, and I don't know where to put it but... Dustin Keller still has no team. That's nutty considering just two years ago we were relying on him to be the focal point of our offense.
Probably has something to do with the fact that his knee looks like a bowl of spaghetti. Funny part? Patriots fans have been predicting his signing for like 4 months.
Oh I'm aware it's 100% his health that's keeping him in the unemployment line. I'm just saying, its crazy how a guy's career can change over such a short amount of time. He went from being our bread and butter to being breadcrumbs.
I disagree wholeheartedly. The very reason why I continue to have faith in Hill is b/c of what I've seen from the "eye test". Now is he the smoothest route runner in the world? No he's not. Has strength been an issue?Indeed it has. I'll even concede that the 4.3 he ran at the combine doesn't translate to the field. But he does have a burst on deep routes, has displayed good body control & although seldom he's displayed the ability to use his size to box out defenders. So add that all up. Size+body control+ burst is at the very least a useful piece on an NFL squad. Furthermore he HAS taken the top off of defenses quite frequently in games. Go ahead & watch the tape. More often than not defenses have a safety occupying his hash. I don't think anybody is saying he's Calvin Johnson. He's nowhere near that explosive or even in the same realm of an overall athlete. But can he be the #2 WR that presents a favorable match-up on any given Sunday? He has to go out & prove it but it's a strong possibility.
