Silver said the NBA is considering a mid-season tournament, possibly in Las Vegas.

Change that and bring us the entertaining as hell tournament. "The top seven seeds in each conference make the playoffs, then it’s a single-elimination tournament for the last two playoff spots."

Interesting thought. That's what soccer does except they don't have a playoffs at the end of the year

Let's let him play a game on the professional level first. I remember when Rex compared Demario's Davis' leadership to Ray Lewis and everyone and their mamma got up in arms about it. Dude could be a flop.

To me, that sounds like a terrible idea. If the games don't count toward anything, no teams are going to give a crap or risk injuring their stars over some silly vegas tourney. If they can find a way to make it count for something, teams might try, but I'd bet 90% of the teams in it will rest their stars or claim they are injured.

Yeah i can't imagine what kind of tournament they would make, and what the actual purpose would be.

Lance Stephenson agrees to a three year $27 million deal with Charlotte.

I think I was misunderstood. I was saying "Why would Wade suddenly be rested this year, when he wasn't last year." They still went to the Finals. He is on the downswing.

And they should be a playoff team gain to.

The East is going to be very competitive now. Thats a loss for the Pacers.

My eastern power rankings as of July 16, 2014 assuming every team is healthy:

    #1 Bulls
    #2 Cavaliers
    # Wizards
    #4 Pacers
    #5 Raptors
    #6 Brooklyn
    #7 Bobcats
    #8 Heat

The one thing I want to see is just how far the Pacers slide. I saw it with the Knicks last year, they had lost a couple players, just had a negative vibe and they found themselves in a huge hole to start the season. Ill probably update it in the future. I think the Hawks and Knicks can get into the playoffs, it just depends how everything plays out.

I have to disagree here. I think the Cavs are the best team in the East now.

You can't have the Bulls number one when Rose has never played a full season. Kyrie Irving and LeBron James may be the best 1-2 punch in the league right now. Irving was rookie of the year, selected to the all star game two years, and was the all star MVP last year. Pair him with LeBron, that's gonna be scary. Then you have Andrew Wiggins and Mike Miller also. No way the Bulls are better than the Cavs.

Im going under the premise that Rose is healthy. Bulls would be a tough team because having Gasol and Noah on the court at the same time, with Rose running the point. That can cause a lot of problems for a lot of teams.

No way. I mean, it's possible, but I don't see that happening. They would have to get through a couple big time teams to do that. I just can't see that happening.

I think the HORNETS (not Bobcats) take a few steps up here. They are better than the Nets and you could argue the Raptors as well.

Hornets had a really good off-season.

Any opinions fair to be honest. A year ago we ALL had:

    Heat
    Pacers
    Bulls
    Nets
    Knicks

All in the top 5 seeds. No one on this forum had the Knicks missing the playoffs, no one had the Raptors winning the east, no one had the Bobcats in the playoffs. We all thought the Cavaliers were finally playoff bound.

Could the Pistons make an improvement? I dont really know.

    Westbrook & KD > Kyrie & LeBron

gonna be fun as hell to watch though, unless the cavs get Love i dont see them touching OKC at all.

Spurs are the shit but im not gonna say they can beat OKC again, they had the hot hand kinda like Dallas did in 2011, nobody beating a team shooting that good.

    OKC taking 2015 Title. Bitches.

One thing, you kind of forgot that you have one of the worst coaches in the NBA.
