You will never find someone on this board calling Revis a bust early in his career. Keep talking out of your ass some more.

If Vick is the starter I look for Hill to put up good numbers. One thing Vick does great is throw the deep pass. With Hill speed he could become our D-Jak.

the guy just never produced anywhere at anytime. Typical Jets project pick. Expecting a guy to get appreciably better against better competition.

Just read an interesting article on this, most relevant part is pasted below from http://www.fantasyfootballmetrics.c...asty-value-pop-on-changing-teams-stephen-hill

We have been starting out these player outlooks by outlining the particular roster situation that the player finds himself in. However, this Stephen Hill story is so much about the potential talent, that we will start there first.

Stephen Hill is an ‘A’ to ‘A+’ physical creation by God to play WR in the NFL. At the 2012 NFL Combine, he measured in at 6’4″, 215-pounds running a 4.3+ 40-time with excellent agility measurements. He also posted a 39.5″ vertical, and had a stellar 11’1″ broad jump. God was pleased when he had seen all that he had done with Stephen Hill.

However, God forgot something…he gave Stephen Hill hands of stone apparently. Hill’s hands were questionable by scouts coming out of a funky Georgia Tech passing game. He has not helped himself with his NFL body of work so far. Last season, he caught 40% of the passes thrown his way. The word ‘bust’ is not hinted at anymore with Hill…it is firmly affixed. It is a given for most of the Fantasy Football community.

I remember another physically huge WR from Georgia Tech, who was a physical freak (not as freaky as Hill), and he started out his NFL journey with a ‘drops’ label, and was hinted at being a higher draft pick bust early-on. That WR was Demaryius Thomas in 2010 and 2011. They have had many similarities in there first two seasons…including one key denominator: poor QB play to work with.

The QB play issue is where the silver lining might be here. Look, the Jets are taking young offensive prospects in recent drafts, and destroying them (or are just horrible selectors of talent). They have the opposite of the Midas Touch on finding offensive talent. Name for me a hot, young offensive skill player drafted by the Jets, who did not belly flop during the Rex Ryan regime. Their biggest claim to fame in that Ryan era is Jeremy Kerley…nice. What if the Jets, under Rex Ryan, is a black hole for offensive players…much like it was with his dad as time went on (Buddy is still my all-time favorite NFL coach)? What if there is an upside with Stephen Hill, but it’s buried under the fiasco that is the Jets-Offense?

It’s possible that one of the great, young athletic talents at WR is available for a song today. He may even be released this preseason.

If Hill can't stay healthy this season and catch 40 passes he is a bust. On any other team I would say at least 45-50 catches but on the Jets that's impossible. Even Rev says they want to limit Smith to 15 passes a game and at 50% completion that does leave much. When your coach admits he believe if the team has to throw 20 times a game they have a far less chance to win in the high flying NFL of today, you may as well give up, because you will never keep up.

Not a chance. Master Sergeant dillweed likes to drop those turds on TGG and then stand back and watch people's reactions when they get a whiff.

I'm surprised the turnonthejets brigade hasn't arrived to shower us with their advanced knowledge of Stephen Hills obvious skills.

Excellent post and one of the two problems I have with Hill is he does not attack the ball. He always seems to time his jumps wrong. My second issue with Hill is not his hands as he improved his hands last year but his failure to look for the ball. many times last year he never looked back for a pass or simply did not see it resulting in at least one INT (the 1st INT against Tennesee when he ran right past the ball allowing Verner to step up and make the INT). The problem is Hill cannot be trusted. Part of the problem might by physical as Hill started last year injured and played hurt every single game last year. His knee problem may be chronic and it greatly limited his burst and ability to jump for balls last year.

This is the same sh*t we've been saying about Hill for the last two years. This isn't groundbreaking or a revelation. Either he rips it up in TC, preseason and the first few real games, or he's a goner. And he should be gone at that point as he's had multiple chances to assume a bigger role in this offense and he never stepped up.

That was in 2012. His drop percentage was way down last year, although he missed a good amount of time and never got on the same page with Geno in the timing of his routes, lowering his production.

I'm thinking we found our #2 DB.
"Those that can, catch. Those that can't play DB"
