Yes, there are things that happened in books 1-3 that haven't happened in the show yet, and likely won't happen until next season, if ever, even though they are major plot devices in the books. Beinoff and Weiss were pretty true to the books through last season, but they have taken a lot of liberties this season that have heavy plot implications and never could have happened in the books, and the only way I can see them not affecting completely different outcomes from the books is basically hoping that the audience is stupid and forgetful of key details. The other thing about using the books as a companion is that you will realize just how many great characters were written out of the show, or multiple characters being merged into one insignificant character that gets killed off in the show while those separate characters are still alive in the books. My advice is not to read the books until the show either finishes or gets cancelled. It will ruin your enjoyment of the show.
Hehe, 3+. When he finished Feast, he wrote in the afterward that it and Dance were supposed to be one book, but it got too big so he split them in 2. He also said that Dance was mostly written and should not take long to come out. It came out 6 years later. I've been trying to be optimistic that he'll eventually finish the series, but it almost seems like he doesn't want to.
Is that guy stupid or is he trolling? It's based on a book! You can't be mad when a show follows a pre written storyline. LoL at salt on a womb! I suspect troll. I totally saw that coming with the prince. He was way too arrogant and cocky and let his guard down. Tyrian was disgusted at the end as well. The look on his face was priceless. Tyrian is probably done for, and his amazing acting in the past 2 episodes reinforces it. Actors always step up their game when their character is about to be killed. They are essentially auditioning for their next role. It always happens. If Tyrian doesn't die, I'll be way more surprised than at the outcome of that duel although chances are he'll make it out somehow.
Fellas please. You have a whole thread to discuss about episodes ending, the book etc. No Spoilers means No Spoilers That means: DO NOT TALK ABOUT HOW THE EPISODES ENDS WITHOUT ADDING A **SPOILER ALERT** TO YOUR POST!! or HOW THE BOOK IS or UPCOMING DEATHS or ANYTHING THAT WILL SPOIL IT FOR SOMEONE WHO HADN'T SEEN IT!! When Posting ask yourself, Am I killing it for someone who hasn't seen it yet... I've pinned both for the season...enjoy
I thought we could discuss the episode once it was over. So all that talk about the "altercation" between that "really big guy" and that "swarthy prince guy" and how it "ended" was a problem? _
I thought no spoilers meant not speaking about the ending or what you know will happen before the episode airs. If it already aired, why can't we discuss what happened in it? If someone hasn't seen it yet, then they shouldn't come on here to read this thread.
Initially it wasn''t a problem but guys keep posting spoilers without giving a heads up .... That's all I ask.. Ftr, I have seen the episodes and it doesn't affect me but I'm just trying to look out for the guy who hasn't seen the episode. If you are going to discuss the ending just give a Spoiler Alert before your post...that's all... I will revise my post..
Seriously, if you haven't seen an episode, just STAY away from ANYTHING like this. That's what I do because I don't watch it until Tuesday.
Same here. If I miss the episode I don't touch this thread until I watch it. I'll be missing the episode tomorrow because of the playoffs as well. Will watch later that night.
I didn't give away any spoilers about the books, and it would be stupid for someone who hasn't read them to go into the spoiler thread to ask something vague like DBJ did. As far as episode endings, that is what this thread is for. If someone is behind on the show, they shouldn't come to this thread unless they are caught up. Same with any thread about any TV show.
So what's the limit on Spoiler Alert? Let's say this coming episode 9 ends on a spoiler type thing, can we discuss episode 8 and it's ending without the spoiler tags? I think once the episode airs, the episode should be good to go to talk about in here BUT the book spoilers are never allowed in here. If someone doesn't watch the episode but comes into here sunday night after the latest episode airs, well it's their risk. It's like DVR'ing a Jets game but then wandering into the Jets game thread during the game.
Game of Thrones just defeated The Sopranos and became the most watched show in HBO history. It averages 18.4 million viewers per episode. Crazy!!
This post just gave me goosebumps. I can't wait!! I'm also on board with why would you even come into this thread Sunday night after an episode if you haven't watched it..?
Sunday night after missing the airing of Game of Thrones: "I think I'm gonna go into the Game of Thrones thread and check out what everyone is talking about." Opens laptop and clicks on thread. "Shit! You assholes! This is a NO SPOILER thread! Fuck! I'm reporting this shit to the mods."
