So basically, in the red zone, we are all going to be saying "RELEASE THE HOUND"?

Just want to get this situated beforehand.

Love the Amaro pick. I initially didn't think he would be there, but I'm happy he was.

The debbie downers are hilarious in this thread. It's hard not to like this pick. But again, some people just love to complain about everything.

He got blasted by a pretty nice safety in Ahmad Dixon of Baylor and was emotionless for a while but still held onto the ball.

This dude doesn't know the meaning of alligator arms.

Decker, Kerley, Amaro, Cumberland, Johnson. Somewhere, there is a mismatch.

I support the Jets in making this pick...heard all day on the FAN on how Francessa lauded this player...so ironic that the Jets landed him and watched some film to see why..he's got that Mark Bavarro in him - not to say he'll have the same career but he's built for the part.

hell be ok. I don't think hell be awesome, but hell be solid/good. we might have been better off going latimer, I don't think he's that far down from the other top wideouts. the real problem is our quarterback sucks

Some do...some don't....but I have a lot of respect for Mayock....and I'm going to defer to his judgement on this one. I really no nothing about this TE but he liked the pick so I like the pick.

Hey...may not be the most sound logic but better than just blindly saying he sucks or he's great! LOL :D

If you're looking for Jesus to give you a break you probably shouldn't have become a Jets fan.... ;)

If they go and draft a QB, I hope it's Zach Mettenberger, from LSU. I just have a feeling about this guy, that he's going to have a really good career as an NFL QB.

I am satisfied with the draft so far, although I surely thought they'd have drafted a WR by now. Amaro, was a great pick to help ease the need for a #1 receiver. Amaro's presence should help take pressure off of Decker. Still would like someone who can burn, and stretch the field. I love the pick of Amaro. I am sure we will all have 'Amaro amoré' as we see this guys career unfolding. Hopefully he's our "Gronk", Bavaro, or Tony Gonzalez type of TE.

As for Pryor, I didn't really know much about him, but after reading more on him and watching some video, I am quite stoked by the pick of him for Safety. He looks like a really good player who will be an intimidating presence.

As for Dexter McDougle, I am hoping he has the "Dex Factor".

I can't wait to see who we get next.

You forgot Nelsen..red zone will most likely be Nelson, Decker, Amaro and if they go with a 4th it will be Cumberland and they will ALL be mismatches so while the defense is going crazy trying to stop those 3 or 4 the Jets will then run Johnson around the end. Going to be really tough to stop the Jets in the red zone.

he was the #1 ranked TE before Ebron gained momentum - we got really good value with this pick and meets a major need.

I am not sure what you meant there only because Bavaro is not a good comparison to the other two. Bavaro may have been the best blocking tight end of all time and was an old school tight end like Mike Ditka and Pete Pihos. Gonzalez and Gronkowski are new school move tight ends who are more like HOFer Kellen Winslow.

Amaro is not like Bavaro. He is more like Winslow, Gonzalez and Gronkowski. If he is 75% as good as those three, then the Amaro selection will turn out t o be a good one.

I saw the guy interviewed last year and saw some games. Amaro has a good football attitude. He is tough and wants the football. He is hungry. I don't get the idea that Amaro will rest on his laurels and find himself out of the league in four years.
