Nope and that is why the Jets will suck again next year. Woody should have just made Rex the GM he is still making defensive picks.
Jesus Christ.... THE TEAM HAS 11 OTHER PICKS. ALL THE TOP SAFETIES WERE GONE IN THE 1ST ROUND. THERE'S STILL GOOD WR/TE PLAYERS TO BE HAD IN THE 2ND-4TH ROUNDS. Do you understand now?
I was begging to add Ward or even Byrd in FA and this works out as well or better. Seems insane to hate on this pick. Rex and Co. had their pick of DBs and this was the one they considered best, you can't question that defensive opinion until proven otherwise. He's not a complete ballhawk but he does have ball skills and does everything else amazingly well you can build a backfield around a player like this for years. All of the good OL were gone, Ebron was gone, as was Barr and the top 2 WRs. The only other choice would've been to reach for a WR but they obviously didn't believe enough in Lee and Cooks which is fine you can't fault a team for not forcing a square peg into a round hole. Plus there are a ton of options at WR/TE and OL for tomorrow with the way the late 1st round played out so what's the issue?
With 5 safeties you take one more in the first. Real genius obviously tard you aren't that bright either.
Great pick. Certainly suprised me, thought we would go Dennard or Cooks but I can't complain. Pryor and Reed!
Yeah we have 5 safeties and only one of them should be a starter in the National Football League We got Dee Milliner, Darren Walls, Kyle Wilson, Demitri Patterson and Ellis Lakster. Screw needing another Cornerback, we got 5 of em on the roster.
2 of them get hurt all the time. The other 3 were arrested for impersonating a CB. We also had 4 safeties and took another one. A Eric Smith with dreadlocks.
I'm skipping your first two posts in this thread because they didn't contain anything of substance. Pryor isn't simply a run stuffing safety, it's obvious, and he wouldn't have been projected anywhere near the first round is he was. Many people project him as a SS because he is great at playing on the LOS, stuffing runs and blitzing, but to say that's all he is is ignorant. Yeah, look at the Saints, because a player you personally wanted was drafted by then when they have huge holes in the defense. Never mind the fact that their team is built around the passing game, and don't get me wrong, I love Cooks, but Rob Ryan would have loved Pryor, he just didn't get him. They are playing to their strengths. Much like the Jets. I understand your frustration, but to trash the Steelers as well as the Jets for trying to build on their strengths is counter intuitive to logic. The Steelers have always loved on a strong defense and an above average offense, and they got a really solid player for their LB corps, which needed help. Just because a team has trouble on offense doesn't mean they should skip a very superior player on defense that shows up when they pick. Instead of attacking the front office for who they pick, maybe you should do some real research about the player you are so disapproving of. Instead of ignorantly pigeonholing Pryor as nothing more than a run stuffing SS, maybe you should put the Cooks tape away and really understand your team's new safety.
Eric Smith doesn't have this guy's speed or instincts at all. Pryor would never Tebow do what he did to Eric Smith. Eric Smith is nothing like this guy. Jarrett and Bush are very expendable....might not make the opening day roster. Dawan Landry at this point should be a backup. Antonio Allen is a serviceable starter but by no means is he some superstar. I know these group of CBs aren't very good but that's my point....we may have the "numbers" for these positions but big deal if they aren't ball players.
