Saints defense was awesome last year what are you talking about. They literally had the best Defense in the league based on YPG. Seattle just won the superbowl based solely on defense.
So we should ignore Baltimore and Seattle winning the most recent Super Bowls with decent-good QB's and dominant defenses? And the only year the Saints won the Super Bowl was when they got hot forcing turnovers on D. Every other year their shit D has killed them. Same with the Colts. The Patriots won Super Bowls when they had solid vets on D like Bruschi/Law/etc. Even Brady putting up video game numbers can't win Super Bowls with the crap D they have now.
The Saints play in a dome. That's why they can draft a waterbug like Brandon Cooks ... Completely different mindset. How have the Saints done outside the dome? You're not coming into NJ in December and throwing the ball 40 times. It's important to be able to run the ball and stop the run. I like the way we're building this team. What I want is another big, physical, move-the-chains target in the passing game to compliment Cj2k coming out of the backfield.
Yea the saints with the worst defense in the world who just happened to have the best defense in the league last year if you judge by yards. No one should listen to what he has to say.
I too really wanted Cooks (badly) who I felt would have had a tremendous impact on our offense for years to come but Pryor is an excellent player who also addresses a critical need. I just felt that Cooks not only filled a crucial need but was also the BPA at 18.
You guys are dumb. I'm not really talking about the past anyway, that's the point. I'm talking mostly about the future. Run-stuffing , hard hitting safeties are going to be obsolete. Too many penalties for one because of the bullshit rules and the fact that they can stop the run will be irrelevant when nobody cares about running it. Don't even talk about Seattle because they are stacked all over the place, offense and defense. The jets are t even close to them it's embarrassing. And they didn't build their team completely one-sided like the jets have in the Rex era, they are balanced
I'm hoping. If they don't think they can get him with their pick, this is the trade up I'm comfortable with.
But they also have the type of players you claim are obsolte on defense. So does San Francisco for that matter (arguably the 2nd best team in football).
Before tonight, what defensive player on the Jets scared opposing offenses? Wilkerson, Richardson.......now there's Pryor. Pryor=Earl Thomas with probably less ball skills
Doesn't play the ball like Thomas but hits way harder then him. Think of LaRon Landry/Bob Sanders. Hopefully he's a much healthier version tho.
W-w-w-Wait a second! Ya outta ya mind. Safeties ahh maw important den eva! I can't take anymaw of dis babble.
The Saints that drafted a safety with #15 overall pick last year and then just paid another safety 6 years, 54 million this offseason don't care about defense? Riiiiiiight. And the Saints D that ranked #10 overall by Football Outsiders. Worst defense in the world, sure. okay. They were the worst defense two years ago, and missed the playoffs, the year their HC was suspended.
