We have 3 primetime games, minimum is 1. The Giants have 5 as does the Bears. Its not that outrageous. And everyone knows MNF can not be flexed. You and your wife don't know football, take up dancing
this post reminded me of this quote "Nice guy? I don't give a shit. Good father? Fuck you! Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here - close!" i really have no problem with night games if i am not going to the game. hate going to night games especially the hey lets put the jets game on at night in the middle of december bullshit they love to pull. fuck you december night games. thursday night games annoy the shit out of me, you feel like there is nothing to look forward to nfl wise for 10 more days. dont care for them at all.
I was going to post that there were some great comments to start this thread....... then I came across this piece of shit......
It's all about market size. Seattle won the SB, but the market is small compared to NY. Let's not pretend they schedule to maximize fan appreciation or goodwill or to somehow honor success. They schedule to maximize revenue, just like every other decision.
Thursday night games work for me for the fact that its sort of like two byes... My girl especially likes that, so we can do shit on Sundays -_-
Read somewhere that Seattle can't get any prime time home games b/c they're 'too good'. Most ppl don't watch to the end of a blow out.
One of the many reasons ( and there were many ) that I gave up my season tickets was the fact that Woody loved the night games and pushed for them along with thanksgiving games,,,,nite games were always a nightmare for the guys at my tailgate. The guys from LI just loved going all the way home after midnight ( insert sarcasm ) and even though I am not far from the stadium, getting home at 12 30 or 1 AM destroyed me and I rarely went to workdays after these games. Once I had kids these nite games really sucked because It was impossible to go with the entire family and when the big guy was old enough i would try and bring him to these games but again he was shot the next day as we just got home too damn late and I would just leave him home and go with the guys,,,,in my eyes nite games sucked,,I always dreaded em
Two Monday night games is awsome,I love when we get the prime time slots, even though we almost never show up in those games
I think it's fair to say ticket holders much prefer 1pm Sunday games, and non-ticket holding fans enjoy the spot light of MNF, SNF and TNF games. It's funny that Woody seems to go the way of non-ticket holding fans.
There are a lot more non STH fans than STH fans, and the more primetime exposure you get the more of those fans you get. Personally I don't live in NY anymore so I find night games a more fun spectacle, but I understand why STH's would want more day games.
Now THIS!!! THIS is why the day after MNF should be declared an official weekly holiday!!!!!! j/k...but only a little. Living out here in CA I don't mind the timing...but most certainly can commiserate with the East Coast fan who cannot do the game and try and fit work/school in the next day. Hell...it's late just to watch it on TV...I can't fathom what it would be like getting to/from the game on a Monday night!
GlennGary GlennRoss. I didn't even have to google it to confirm. Still one of my all time favorites and I probably haven't watched it in 10 years. I think it was more surprising considering who it came from.
