Blaming an entire team's failure on one player is fucking ludicrous, especially when that player is a runningback.
people need to stop recycling the same cliche that the running back position is diminished ... asking one guy to carry the load is what has been diminished, but the running back position is still alive and well seattle and san fran were the two best teams in the league and they built their offenses around running the ball ... carolina, green bay, philadelphia, kansas city, and even new england were all playoff teams that relied heavily on the running game seven of the twelve teams to make the playoffs, as well as the best two teams in the league, relied on running the ball we get it, cj snubbed your autograph request and youre butt hurt about it ... its cool, i have a friend that hates dan majerle to this day for the same reason
When do the Jets play the Titans? If it's this year or next, circle the date on your calendar, go to Met or Titan stadium and throw all your empty beer cups into EZ after each CJ touchdown. End of day go to jail LOL.
TNT told me he is actually a New Yorker . Something tells me he will take "I hate CJ " sign to Tenn ,stand outside of stadium and boycott game.
Ftr I don't have a problem with fans of other teams posting here. I haven't followed the discussion closely, but he doesn't seem to be overly troll-like. I am not saying I feel the need to give anyone here a nice warm welcome, either, whether Jet fan or not. But I don't think Jet fans should be too thin skinned about contrary opinions. Not that I take it personally to see Jet fans behave badly toward fans of other teams. It is what it is. But I don't see the point of behaving badly to guests, either. It comes across as frustration. Why be frustrated when a fan of another team criticizes some move the FO made? We can't even agree about things as Jet fans. Plenty of Jet fans over the last two years have divided themselves from time to time over controversial players, from Holmes to Revis to Sanchez to even Smith more recently. Opinions can be quite extreme, but that's not the point. The point is we should not be surprised when others disagree with us. I will say the Tits fan seems rather obtuse on the point that by and large Jet fans see Johnson as a rotational player who adds a better pass catching option at RB than Ivory or even Powell. Not as some savior to the Offense. But Jet fans commit crimes more severe than being obtuse, sometimes several times a day. I think that covers it. Am I missing something?
You're missing the fact that he signed up for the board strictly to give his opinion as to why Chris Johnson sucks to a fan base that is relatively excited about the acquisition and then planned to disappear. He makes his posts sound as polite as possible despite the message he's trying to send, and then complains about the insults and attacks. I'd compare his posts to saying, "Upon doing plenty of research and seeing her work up close, I have come to the determination that your mother has sex for money. I am not trying to be nasty about it, but I can definitely say I was disappointed that she wasn't as good at it as I was expecting her to be."
Actually I don't think I missed that. It's been obvious from his first post that he hates Johnson. I think he'd prefer to think that the Tits would have been a much better team without Johnson. It's a rather obvious form of denial. I don't take it seriously. Now that does not mean he is wrong to criticize Johnson, at least to some extent. But the over the top condemnations seem rather silly. Still he's entitled to his opinion, and while there are troll like aspects to his posts. they do not seem excessive. I did get a chuckle out of your analogy, though. HEh. Thanks for that.
And you're a Titans fan because you were an Oilers fan because were an Astros fan because when you were a kid you watched all the space shots, right?
Stop replying to this fucking guy people he's ignoring anyone who puts up a good point me included all you are doing is feeding an ugly fucking troll. Let him disappear back under his bridge please.
nah, I wanna read all about how awesome of a running back Dexter McCluster is, really it's fascinating material
I know you're joking, but for the record I was very happy they got rid of Greene. I was sick of watching his running style. He was mediocre at best.
No I became an Oilers fan because I was a little kid at the time and loved Warren Moon and the run n shoot.
Chris Johnson unsure how Jets will split running back carries http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...how_jets_will_split_running_back_carries.html Darryl Slater/The Star-Ledger By Darryl Slater/The Star-Ledger on May 22, 2014 at 1:35 PM, updated May 22, 2014 at 1:52 PM FLORHAM PARK – Because new Jets running back Chris Johnson has been mostly rehabbing his knee since the Jets began offseason workouts April 21, he hasn’t gotten a firm grasp yet on how the team will use him in a backfield that also includes Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell as its other primary members, along with injured Mike Goodson (knee) and Daryl Richardson, a recent waiver claim. “Basically, right now, I’ve been in rehab a lot, not being able to be on the field with the team,” he said. “From just going through the playbook and talking with coaches, it’s going to be very interesting this year, getting me in space a lot, and just putting me in position to help this team win. That was one of the reasons that helped me choose to come over here: They’ve got a pretty good offensive line and they like to run the ball and mix it up.” The Jets ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing yards last season and 10th in yards per carry. They had a balanced attack, and ran the ball 13 more times than they threw it. Since Johnson hasn’t been on the field with his teammates, while doing knee surgery rehab that will sideline him for organized team activities, he said he couldn’t yet pinpoint how many carries he would like to have this season. In six seasons with the Titans, he averaged 290 a year and never had fewer than 251 (his rookie year). Last season, even while playing hurt, he carried 279 times. He almost certainly won’t carry that many times in the Jets’ backfield by committee. “I’m not sure how they’re going to use all of us,” said Johnson, who has never played in a backfield by committee during his NFL career. Johnson does feel hopeful that he can be an asset to the Jets by catching passes out of the backfield – a part of the West Coast offense that the Jets sorely missed last season. “There was some of that discussed (while talking with the Jets during free agency),” Johnson said. “That’s another way to get me the ball in space and to help me make plays. That’s something they told me they would like for me to do here, too.” But as for the question everybody is wondering about – how will the Jets split the carries? – Johnson said the running backs are fine with waiting to determine that, and also fine with whatever the answer might be. “I knew the situation coming in, and we’re just going to work together and everybody’s goal is to put wins on the board,” Johnson said. “We’re not really worrying about the carries or who’s going to play this down or that down. We’ve just all got one focus, and that’s winning.”
This one's not a surprise: Jets' Chris Johnson says knee rehab will sideline him for organized team activities By Darryl Slater/The Star-Ledger on May 22, 2014 at 1:32 PM, updated May 22, 2014 at 2:06 PM FLORHAM PARK – Chris Johnson has 1,742 carries and 272 catches worth of mileage on his body. But as the former 2,000-yard running back prepares for his seventh season in the NFL, and first with the Jets, he seems intent on proving he still has plenty left in him. “I feel like I’m going to let the league kick me out of the league,” Johnson said Thursday at the Jets’ complex. “I’m going to continue playing as long as somebody picks me up.” Johnson, who turns 29 in September, has remained mostly healthy during his career. He has missed just one game, as a rookie in 2008 with the Titans – his only NFL employer before the Jets, who signed him during the offseason after the Titans cut him. Still, the Jets are remaining cautious with Johnson. He played last season with a torn meniscus in his knee, and underwent surgery in January to repair it. He said the Jets likely will hold him out of all their organized team practice activities, which start next week. Their OTA dates are May 27-28, May 30, June 2, June 4-5 and June 9-12. Their mandatory minicamp is June 17-19. “I think they’re going to hold me out of OTAs and just continue rehabbing until I get 100 percent,” Johnson said. “Just from talking to Dr. (James) Andrews (the renowned orthopedic surgeon), he wants to take it slow, since I have time on my side, and just be ready for (training) camp.” Johnson did express optimism about his knee. He said his rehabilitation has progressed to the point that, this week, he has begun straight-ahead running. “I’m feeling good right now, getting better and better every day,” he said. “The knee is feeling good and it’s getting better, close to 100 percent.” The Jets' decision to likely keep Johnson out of OTAs comes as little surprise, since coach Rex Ryan said when offseason workouts began that he did not want to rush Johnson back, and there was a good chance the Jets would limit his participation this offseason. "Could we limit him?" Ryan said then. "Absolutely. We’re going to limit probably quite a few guys coming off of injuries.
