And the fact that Titan fans are still butt hurt over the Jets ending their undefeated season is ridiculous.
That topic has nothing to do with this thread other than having a Titans fan posting in it. Keep it simple, soxxx, don't BE simple.
The same Kendall Wright that had 1079 receiving yards and 2(2) touchdowns was BY FAR your biggest offensive weapon?...really? That might explain why your FO cut Johnson if that is how they think too.
You had enough time to read the posts that indicated that a Titans fan was posting here otherwise you wouldn't have asked your simple question. Are you reverting back to waterheaded troll mode already? We hardly got to know almost-serious soxxx.
I am not trying to appeal to you or anyone on this board. Ill post what I want, and if people dont like it, tough, does not bother me one bit. I am keeping it real.
I'm amazed at some of the hate for CJ and the constant feedback from the Titan fans that he ain't close to the 2k CJ of all. I think every Jet fan knows that he is not the CJ2K of old nor do we expect him to be. Last year he run for 1077 and had 6 TDs plus he caught 345 more yards for an additional 4 TDs. He played all 16 games and was way less than 100% health wise. Hum mm...not bad for a complimentary back to Ivory running behind a better line and hopefully improving, a chip on his shoulder, a great offensive coach and A Mobile QB. This is a bright new scenario for CJ and he will make the best of it
There's only one Titans fan, but he raises some valid concerns. But we also got valid concerns from a smart Bears fan after the Thomas Jones trade and from a couple of Chargers fans after the Jets signed Tomlinson. The difference is that Jones and Tomlinson were both team players and CJ is probably pretty far from that. But the question is will a change of scenery let the Jets gain some production out of him given that? I think they can, because he has better complimentary backs than both of those guys did. I just think it's a better bet to be conservative in expectation of his performance with the Jets. He's a thoroughbred on his last legs and only cares who throws him a sugarcube filled with money, he's not a workhorse that wakes up every day prepared to break his back pleasing his owner.
I agree completely. He made some scary assertions that Jets have some problems here but my initial reactions was to just to warn him his bad mouthing of CJ won't go disregarded. Sorry I shooed him away but he didn't man up and stay here. Hmm.. Who would stay on the Pats board all day?
Titans fans hated CJ because his production didn't match the enormous contract he had, over here he will be a part of a running back by committee essentially and not asked to produce 1500 yards, and at a reasonable contract. If he happens to have a revival while wearing the green and white than that's great for us but if not we can just cut his ass, we'd still have Ivory and Powell.
Don't disagree with your response at all. I think is prudent to be conservative, but I also think that if properly coached and with designed plays to suit his strength he could be a formidable player, more explosive that Jones and even LT at the same point of their careers. He does not have to be the one and only "rock carrier" on this team and he needs to understand that. There is nothing more motivating than a talented player at the sunset of his career with something significant to prove. To your point I do have a concern about his perceived lack of "team first" approach to the game, quite frankly, that is the same concern I had about Revis since after his rookie year and that's why I was against bringing him back. . I hope CJ proves me wrong.
He's gonna turn out to be the best pickup of the offseason IMO and I'm bullish on Vick. I like that he has a chip on his shoulder because that's when he was the best.(pre-contract fighting to make a name for himself in Tenn) I could careless if he's not a team player or doesn't want to be a complementary back. Good. He's here to run like the fucking wind only. He's here in the short-term, the Jets aren't building the franchise around him.
I'll be rebellious enough to pencil in the Brooklyn Nets as their opponent. "Don't adjust your sets, folks. This year's Finals is indeed the black and white team versus the black and white team."
