He does not need to get 2000 yards, if he gets 1,000 and ivory 1,000 that puts the jets offense in a very good position, and CJ can catch out of the backfield adding another dimension the jets have been missing.

I like the signing because of the different looks the jets offense can have on offense and the defense will have to pick their poison.

With Vick behind center this can be an awesome offense.

So what. You should just be happy we got CJ. By the way half this board and NFL threads are saying we are closer to a SB.

You are a fortune teller. Chris Johnson was the answer. It's not the additions of Vick or Decker. It's not the additional 12 draft picks we'll have this year. It will be all because of one guy, a running back, Chris Johnson.

Not saying that CJ is still a 2000 a year guy but all of this talk about him being worn out..done? The first thing to go is that breakaway speed and I really did not see that. Has anyone taken a good look at what he was running behind the past few years?

He had 42....fourty two receptions with that hall of famer Fitzpatrick behind center. Rushing and receiving for almost 1500 yards. He comes to an OC that is dying to use him as a runner and receiver.

Is he a 2000 a year guy? No...but he isnt a 1000 a year guy either. He will probably combine for about 1700 yards rushing/receiving.

With Ivory...this is a no brainer signing as it gets. A guy with a chip on his shoulder looking to prove himself at the age of 28..going on 29 for next season. A guy that plays 16 games a year almost every year.

    6 rushing tds....but also 4 receiving?

Maybe I am foreseeing something good for this team. Never said Vick and Decker are not very good additions. Together with CJ we can contend with Denver, NE, and anyone.

Hard to tell what kind of production we're going to get from CJ but I can guarantee that teams will definitely have to gameplan against him and that alone improves our offense.

Thank you for documenting how good Johnson , I believe, still is. We got him at the average running back price and one that pays QBs and Receivers big money. That's how the NFL has changed.

This is what Ivory, Powell, and Geno did to Hightower, Mayo, and Collins last year:

Why don't you replace the name with your own name?

All of the above will be EASY for Vick considering he won't be asked to score 35+ pts / game. With Jets defense 21-24 points will be enough to win most of the times.

I also root for 24, although don't care about your jersey. Would like to see a virtual finger to Revis

Geno can sit his ass on the bench for a year or two. This CJ2K and Vick combo has me salivating.

I'm gonna have to change my name to DreadGladSeen if idzik keeps adding dreaded players to this team. Great signing!

Vick can throw the ball too. So we all should be foaming at the mouth we have Kerley, Decker, and drafting a good WR. For a while I had my doubts about GM but offense is going from 0 to 60 MPH. Good job Idzik....sorry for def coordinators to plan against this boat!

If we can fix our below-average DB problem. Remember, our best CBs are Kyle Wilson and Dee Milliner and our safeties aren't very good.

If we could sustain some drives, I see the play of our defense with the personal we currently have, drastically improve.. The defense was on the field 30+ minutes most games.

Good Signing. As some said above, do not expect him to be a 1000 yard rusher especially when combining with Ivory and Powell. Not ruling out Goodson either, but I agree with the comment that this gives a lot of options, opens the game a little.
