It depends on his yards per touch. Honestly I'd be astounded if CJ pulls out 1200 yards splitting touches, downright flabbergasted. Unless we have two 1000 yard backs, it's just an unrealistic expectation.
The scary thing is there's probably a 5 year old in kindergarten right now whose friends are all trying to figure out what kind of name Orton is.
He is going to play second fiddle to Chris Ivory. You just don't pay a guy that much money who isn't a feature back. He adds different abilities to the offense so I want to sign him, but his touches will be significantly less than any of the last few years. It's actually a good thing for him, because it will probably extend his career a little.
It's obviously a southwestern American name due to the historical significance of the legendary folk hero Cowboy Bob Orton.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 50s Former Titans RB Chris Johnson reached agreement with Jets on a two-year deal, per league sources. Got him! There are a whole lot of people that look very very stupid in this thread. They know who they are. Well no they don't, but everyone else does.
Nobody is arguing not to sign him simply to save that cap space for next year; what is being said us you don't overpay him this season simply because you have the cap space because that extra amount can be carried over and be useful next year. But there have been cries to pay him whatever it takes to sign him simply because we have the cap space this season as if it is use it or lose it.
I know what you meant, but I still don't expect 1200 combined yards. Splitting touches refers to overall number of plays with the ball in his hands, splitting carries refers to the # of running plays. How many receiving yards are you expecting from him?
Another fantastic signing. Not long term either so bound to not have cost us much money. Gives us lots of options now going forward with the running backs we have available to us now.
And this is why people have been laughed at for talking about how slow Idzik is and how his style is hurting us. Really? We just got the best RB available in free agency a month after free agency begins. He's already signed the best QB available, signed the best WR available at the time, and now this. Unbelievable offseason for Idzik so far, and we haven't even drafted.
