I just hope Reggie Jackson is ok for one thing. For a second, I hope the Heat have the hardest playoff schedule possible. I don't care who wins the conference really, but I'd prefer the Bulls, or Wizards. I can dream right? Also, not sure what's with the OKC hate here. They're the most exciting team to watch, and Durant is like the anti-Lebron, who you all hate minus that phin fan.
Well now we are just being ridiculous. I don't think anyone hates OKC. I think most of us have KD as our MVP this year and OKC as a title contender. They're just in a loaded WC. Side note, do people still hate Lebron? Once he lost the first time with Miami, I just came to disliking Miami because I'm a Knicks fan and I dislike Miami. But Lebron the player is supremely fun to watch on offense and defense. The Heat team is fun to watch in general with their aggressive defense and ability to go on runs.
Toronto back at the 3 seed. The Miami Heat might watch Brooklyn, Chicago, and Indiana all end up in the other side of the EC bracket.
Yeah, let Indy grab the one seed. Hope Toronto wins out to hold off Chicago. Hope BK wins one more game to clinch the 5th seed. And just like that the Heat face the Bobcats/Wizards followed by the Raptors most likely. Good teams but not playoff tested. Team that are "happy to be there"
I never said they couldn't beat the Heat. They just qualify more as a team as happy to be there than BK,IND,CHI who had more realistic, higher goals when the season started
Yeah I agree, but I also believe the goal of every NBA franchise is to win the NBA finals. Expectations or no expectations, the goal is still the same.
Yeah of course. There are steps to getting there. I believe this is Wall's Wizards first time in the playoffs. Of course their goal is a NBA championship, but if they lose 1st round, it's still a promising year for them. Wall took a leadership role, he helped the team get to the playoffs and players understand their roles and played well within them.. So if I'm Miami, I would rather face a new team like them or Toronto instead of a battle tested team like Chicago or Brooklyn. I do think Toronto is a better team than Brooklyn and Chicago, but as of right now I'd be more worried facing a team like Chicago or Brooklyn these playoffs. Maybe I'm overrating playoff experience though? I'm trying to think of a team recently that was new to playoff scene and made a run to the finals, and I can't think of one. Maybe it's not necessarily playoff experience thing but some underlying factor that the better teams consistently make the playoffs therefore when they make the finals it isn't a surprise. The NBA playoffs is set up to reward the better teams. Thunder and Magic are probably the closest but they both were in their 3rd straight playoff years when they made a run to the finals.
From what I understand, the Raptors are no joke. They are flying under the radar even more than the Pacers were last year. Pacers were a 49 win team last year, the Raptors right now are at 47. If the Raptors do play Miami I would have to believe they can make a series.
Yeah I mentioned it earlier, the only reason I am not talking more about Tornoto is because I haven't watched them. I believe they have played 0 national TV games this year. I just haven't watched enough to get a read. Combine that with a first time playoff appearance, I'm in a wait and see mode with them. Top 10 teams in O rating: MIA, LAC, DAL, HOU, SA, POR, OKC, PHX, TOR, MIN Top 10 teams in D rating: IND, CHI, GS, SA, OKC, CHA, LAC, MEM, TOR, WAS Top 10 teams in net rating: SA, LAC, OKC, MIA, HOU, GS, IND, POR, TOR, PHX Teams in bold show up all 3 times: LAC, SA, OKC, and TOR. That's a good group to be part of if you are TOR. From January 1st: Top 10 teams in O rating: LAC, DAL, MIA, SA, HOU, OKC, PHX, NYK, TOR, POR Top 10 teams in D rating: CHI, IND, MEM, SA, GS, WAS, OKC, LAC, HOU, TOR Top 10 teams in net rating: LAC, SA, HOU, OKC, MIA, GS, TOR, MEM, CHI, DAL Now we have LAC, SA, OKC, HOU, and TOR. I mean again, great group for TOR to be in. The thing is, they aren't top 5 in any of them where LAC, SA, OKC and HOU in the second list find themselves at the top of the league in one of those categories. So we will see. Very very interesting team to look at
Pacers vs Hawks locked in. Pacers in 6. Heat vs Bobcats locked in. Heat in 5. I would love to be very wrong in both predictions
Wait hold up, I was wrong for now. Hawks just blew a lead to the Bobcats. A bobcats loss drops them to the 7 seed and it looked like that was certain. I was a little too quick calling that game
Do you guys have a fantasy basketball league that you do? I'd love to play against Soxxx, Displaced, deathstar, Yisman, etc.
I played one year, it seemed to demanding. I was having to update my roster every single night, the rest of the league wasnt as dedicated which lead to me going undefeated before I just eventually quit to because no one bothered.
Welp if washington somehow loses to a tanking Boston wednesday night and the Bobcats beat Chicago, Washington slips into the 7 seed So realistically, more likely CHA sticks to the 7 seed
I'm wrapping up my 2nd year doing it. I was 2nd all year last year before dropping to 3rd the last few days, if not the last day itself. I like points leagues much more than head to head. It's more fair to everyone to have the best team overall thru the year, instead of 1 or 2 random weeks at the end of the schedule. I feel the same way with NFL fantasy leagues, but literally every friend I play with doesn't agree, so I get stuck doing BS head to head leagues. I can't count the number of times I had a top team in points, but played the top scoring team nearly every week.
